Hardware & Technical Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS...realties...

Did you moved the little springs underneath? No I didn't, but could in fact increase a bit the stiffness... Also, you could take off all the greace (not sure bout that english word), and reapply greace... it's somewhat 'sticky' at original state. Loose is good, mine recenters very slightly in fact, but I like it now :)

Play a couple of hours with the spring then, or without... you'll figure out later on what's best for you.

Sound like something is very very wrong. My warthog is extremely precise, with 0 deadzone. The first hint of movement on the stick (a few mm of physical deflection) will register movement. Perhaps try checking your joystick settings / calibration in windows control panel?

I didn't eve know there was a control panel in windows for that. I am a mac user and using E : D on bootcamp, so not used to the intricacies with Win....anymore.

Ok did a test...

Everything seemed to go fine and calibrate in the windows joystick calibration.

So I loaded up the game again. Same issue. What I did notice is by mistake I hit the trackpad with my hand. Then the mouse pointer showed up.

It seems that I can control the ship with both the joystick and the trackpad. Thought that was interesting.

So I decided to go back to the main menu and noticed a custom profile was loaded.

I chose a generic joystick and loaded up a combat mission. Joystick worked perfectly.

So it seems to be a profile issue. Maybe two profiles got mixed up or something.

I guess I will create a new profile from an empty one and see how that works.

Hello,

I don't know how the Warthog handles from hardware side (spring etc.) but I really think you're missing out BIG TIME getting a several hundred $$$ HOTAS and not using Target. (The Windows built in 'calibration' is crappy at best).

Please see my target beginner guide here:

It would allow you to set the joystick to any sensitivity you want.

For example if you think the stick is too sensitive and doesn't allow smooth, precise movements you could just create a flatter custom curve in Target, stuff like that.

Very nice tutorial. Very Comprehensive! I will be using it today. Thanks!

Can one not buy a shorter / softer spring in the aftermarket?

I don't like it real stiff, but it shouldn't be totally floppy either...

I know it is old topic, but did you actually bind pitch/roll on the proper axis? Or you have set them like separate inputs - like click "pitch left" then move stick left? Because the last is the wrong way, it should be assigned to exis, not the left/right or up/down commands.
