Newcomer / Intro Tic tok, but when is the tok

I know when the weekly TIC is on Thursday 00:00 UTC/GMT?
I’m fairly certain theres a daily Tok as well for certain tally events such as system wars. “The faction has dominated the conflict for X-days.“
Would that also be 00:00 UTC/GMT ?

I haven't checked recently, but it used to be around 17:00 GB time. I'm not sure if that's summertime or GMT, so I never stack massacre missions before 18:00, and I always check that the conflict zones are still there and fighting before taking missions.

The weekly tick is at 07:00 on Thursdays, not 00:00.
The daily BGS tick has no consistent time (though patterns sometimes appear), but it'll happen once per day. This site shows when it's happened in the past few days: https://elitebgs.app/tick

Thank you cmdrs,
It seems that the times are “relatively“ random between 0000 and 1200. It appears that, in human logic, the current system which determines the daily Tok/bgs time is MESSED UP, with no real reasoning behind it.
One would think that you need to complete and turn in your massacre missions before x times in order for the days scores to be posted to the system, otherwise they will get applied to the following day. If you want to win wars, then knowing the daily tok/bgs would be of great benefit.
Oh well, it is what it is .
Thanks again Cmdrs

Not quite. If you look at https://elitebgs.app/tick, you'll see that the tick was fairly consistent after last Thursday (server restart), then took a jump with yesterday's server troubles.
It should usually happen after each 24 hours, but for one thing, unknown reasons ( among them server troubles) can delay it (I don't think an advance has been observed except for server reboots), and it will take a little time for it to percolate through the galaxy, i.e. the tick related effects will not necessarily happen in all systems at the same time.
For detailed discussions, there's a whole subforum (and a few discords) dedicated to the BGS.

https://elitebgs.app/tick shows the correct start time, but it takes a random amount of time of up to 8 hours for any particular system to complete and for the results to be visible in Journals, Galaxy and System Maps.
The quickest way to see any changes is the Station News which updates a LOT earlier than the other sources of information.

Other than when it gets knocked about by game updates, server problems, etc. it runs on a fairly steady 24-and-a-bit hour schedule. That extra bit means it slowly rolls forward each day.

It isn't random. People above are talking about the tik of different things. I judged your OP question to be specifically about conflict zones, which always end round about 17:00 UK time.

Yeah, you assumed correctly my old(ish) Jedi Cmdr.
Thank you for the specifics here. No more racing to get my missions completed by 0000. I need to readjust a bit though.
I thoroughly enjoy CZs and being able to keep certain factions, of which there 5, from gaining the upper hand. There’s always a war in this system too.
I certainly appreciate your input. 👍

It takes only a few minutes to dash out to the CZs to check what is going on there. Sometimes they move, sometimes the two sides are there, but nobody is shooting, sometimes they've gone and sometimes (mostly) the fight is still going on. Regardless of other factors, I always check at the beginning of my session, which is round about 18:00 UK time, before loading up with missions. After that, I have around 23hrs to complete them, though normally done by 23:00.

One other unusual thing to look out for is that the station doesn't flip. I'm not sure how or when it does that, but when using weapons that use ammo, you have to keep visiting the station to replenish. One time in the middle of a session, the station flipped without me noticing. It does actually go red, but when you've done something and seen it 100 times, your brain works on auto-pilot and doesn't notice. Anyway, I boosted into the station while asking for docking permission on the way, like I had done successfully 30 minutes earlier, only to get blown up by the station as soon as I got close and before I figured out what had changed. I only made that mistake once.

Generally to rearm and repair I’ll make certain theres a suitable carrier real close, I’m taking 9mm to 7ls away. Sometimes my carrier location is suitable. Usually I find something just a few mm away. Even when theres a stn in the same distance, I’ll opt for the carrier, land, rearm/repair and back into the fight without the mucking about of landing in a stn, cue times and all the nonsense.
However I’ve never seen a stn flip on my watch in all my 3500 hrs .
In my first forays in CZ’s I did make a similar mistake, only it wasn’t the stn that flipped. I made an enemy during a war in my home system in which my rep got down to ”hostile“ , a real badge of honor. At the time I didn’t realize the sub faction was actually a contriol faction in a nearby system. I had business there once. “ Docking request denied, why is this stn shooting at m…..KABOOM!
I’ve since learned to fix my rep (in a different system at the end of each days battles,
Haven’t been killed in over a year point 5 either.
