Tidally Locked Earth Like worlds - do they exist?

Hi all
A question that I hope you can help with. According to the admittedly very few websites I've read on the subject, to be classed as Earth like most worlds seem to rely on standard orbital rotation rather than be tidally locked. The theory being that tidally locked worlds wouldn't have the possibility of life evolving there as the conditions are too harsh.

Is that a valid argument given that we know life exists on Earth in some environments we previously thought of as harsh, the volcanic underwater vents for example?

Has anyone come across any tidally locked Earth like worlds in our version of the Galaxy?

Hi CMDR,

I just saw one a few hours ago... and in inhabited space.
I don't remember the system name, it was on the border of the human space bubble, a system controlled by Empire.
Probably not too far from Sental. There's a station around this planet.

I was surprised to find this kind of planet.

Yeah I just found one on my buckyball run yesterday. Took a screen shot and realized that I didn't slot a DDS for some insane reason that might be tied to a fever or lack of sleep, but the SS doesn't have the full normal detail from a DDS scan. It does say tidally locked though.

Just found one literally minutes after reading this thread.
