TIL that Brian May of Queen fame holds a PhD in Astrophysics.

From his thesis at page 9:

The writing of my thesis was virtually complete in 1974, but the submission was
deferred due to various pressures. Having returned to the work in 2006, I am happy to
submit a complete and substantially updated thesis in 2007, in which I am now able to
offer many new perspectives, because of the research which has taken place between
1974 and the present day.

In his PhD thesis, he explains why it took him over 30 years to submit it, mentioning "various pressures" that caused the delay.
Those pressures? Nothing really important, well, yeah, you know, being the lead guitarist of Queen.
