Time delay loading goods

I have to wait for my SCB's to charge up when I turn then on, how can I put 700 slaves in my cargo hold instantly?

Imagine if you actually had to WAIT for the goods to be loaded into your ship, say 1 second per cargo, instead of landing then pressing a macro to auto buy max <insert best priced commodity> then leave.

What if you employed people at a station to load the goods, pay a premium for a faster delivery or based on standings at the station have more loading?

And do what in the meantime...apart from staring that counter down ?

'zactly.
Maybe once there is first-person ship and station walkabout gameplay then min/maxing loading priorities could be a fun part of that, but I assume outside-cockpit gameplay is still a few seasons away.

I think it could eventually be part of the game, but it's way too early to do it now.

If there was the ability to move around your ship, having the wait time to load goods could prompt players to walk around. As it stands the cockpits are rendered, there is just not the ability to walk around unless you're using a HTC Vice but that's very limited.

Imagine if you had to leave your ship and go around the station to locate a black market to actually sell goods, or had to go to a market kiosk to sell commodities.

You could buy a frequent trader <device> to order commodities without leaving your ship, or make it a perk for dedicated trading ships like the Lakon ones, or make it a Lakon system.

Just throwing ideas out there.

Well wouldn't need to be that big a wait, maybe if it instead just played the sound it does when you cargo scoop, you know where it sounds like it is transporting stuff around your ship, but had the sound scale in length depending on how much you loaded onto ship, maybe also vary sound a bit on larger cargo purchases?

Making players wait with no ability to do anything else of note for the sake of it is bad game design. Even with spacelegs it would still get boring fast, this isn't a proper sim and not having to wait half an hour for your cargo to load is a necessary trade off imho, if you want to rp it either imagine you've arranged the trade on comms before you arrive or that you spend more time in the station than we experience.

FWIW, jettisoning cargo already takes time per tonne ejected.

Loading cargo probably just expects that by the time you've finished up your business, navigated and closed out the menus, and requested return to surface, that enough time would have passed for the loading.

Eg. the game trusts that you will stay in port long enough to load, but doesn't verify :D
