Time for Frontier to Send a Lawsuit?

So, I saw Valerian last night. In it, the main character uses the "Lexus SKYJET," a single-person fighter vessel.

Something seemed fishy to me though. Here's a picture of it:

Look familiar? It does to me....

If I'm Frontier, I'm dusting off the letterhead and finding the address of the production studios.

Just one Commander's thoughts, though.

Fly on, and don't shoot the Thargoids.

Is the movie any good? I'm having trouble seeing cara de'lavigne as anything other than a priveliged princess, though stunning good looks are often the trade mark of an actress they also need a modicum of talent to back them up.

The film is based off of an older french comic story.... Elite Dangerous came after the comics and the announced start of the film......

Looks more like the Dolphin at any rate, albeit a much smaller version. It's claimed under Lexus, so I'm not sure how that would play out.

They are strikingly similar, no doubt, however...

Somehow I think Lexus has more than enough money to ensure any such a suit:

1. Would be settled quietly behind the scenes.
2. Would end up costing so much that by the time any settlement was reached it would not have been worth it.

Besides, there are more than enough differences that aren't even subtle. Look at the back of it.

Quite a bit different really, and the size of it? It's SLF-sized.
Doubt it? Watch

It's about motorcycle sized. And to be honest, I'd love to see a Saud Kruger SLF, because the Skyjet is frelling sweet.

On another note, how was Valerian? I looks like something I'd enjoy staring at.

Her surname is Delevingne just for info and by all accounts she's actually quite good in this, although the film itself is only getting modest reviews at best.

She's actually had decent reviews for pretty much everything she's done so far, plus she's only 24. She was a drama student before people started throwing money at her for modeling and I can hardly blame her for choosing to do that for a while; starting out as an actor is probably one of the least financially secure things a person can choose to do with their life but I very much doubt she's going to be worrying about whether she can afford a pack of sausages from Spar for the next few years, seems she had a decent plan to me.

Familiar, yes.

Identical, no.

Similar enough to be worth a lawsuit - Um we are British, not American.... (no). :D

(Yes this is meant as a joke, please don't take it the wrong way)

They look a lot like the Deepflight I as well, which is over 20 years old at this point.

There are also much older designs for vessels that are essentially smooth white cylinders.

Valerian was awful, imho. It felt like it was confused and lost, with many different elements haphazardly thrown together. There's a confusing love(?) story in it, threats by characters that foreshadow events that never happen, and just general cliche-ness that made the movie a C-list movie at best.

I fell asleep in the theater. My brother in law had to wake me up.

As far as the ship is concerned, I would buy the phooie out of the skyjet if something like it showed up in game. It looks frikkin sweet.

I was just pointing out what I saw, obviously they aren't going to send a suit. Just thought it was good food for thought. Maybe someone at Lexus plays ED [where is it]

The only people who need to be sending a law suit to Valerian are Bioware.

Seriously. Valerian is just a really poorly made Mass Effect movie.

Yeah everything is sex appeal these days, like those survival/disaster films where every single survivor could be a model. Im yet to see an ugly Vampire in the plethora of vampire shows out there. On a similar note in this day and age I'm yet to see an MTV music video without a close up of some skimpy womans butt.

No. It is not good. At all.

Call it a rental and save yourself the hassle of going to the cinema.

I dont think they copyrighted a white spaceship with fins

Edit:Also i don't think bioware/ea copyrighted black metallic spacesuits

Can people chill their buttocks over the simpliest of designs at this point already?

Movie is based on Valérian and Laureline 1967, if anything they could easily argue that Frontier copied their original design and sue them.
