time goes WAY TO FAST

The time progression in this game is horrific... i was watching the clock while the staff delivered my new Pangolins, it took 15 in game days and the habitat was super close to the Quarantine unit.
I've not been playing this save for long and its over 50 years old. imagine only having 5 habitats after 50 years, that is really unrealistic.
just wondering if we can have it slow down... LIKE ALOOOOOOOOT PLEASE..... all my animals die so fast

Ir might be only in sandbox (not sure about challenge and franchise), but there is an option in the settings to adjust how long it takes for your animals to get old.

The animal aging works in every mode. Go to settings - Game - Animal settings. There you can slow the aging of the animals by up to 5 times. This helps alot! In my regular zoo's I always have the setting to x5, only in my breeding zoo's I have normal aging on. It won't help with the fast ingame time, but your animals will live for 5 times as long, wich helps alot :)

This has been a common complaint since before the game even released. Frontier's fix was to give players the option to slow down animal aging. As a result the years at the bottom are completely unrelated to how the animals age in-game.

My head canon is that because this is "Planet Zoo" it's actually another planet, not earth, that orbits its sun much faster than earth. As a result, each year on Planet Zoo lasts much shorter than an earth year. However the animals are from earth (we're setting up zoos that display earthling animals on this foreign planet) so they age in earth years. The time system is so messed up in this game that that's really the only way you can think about it for it to make sense.

After they added the animal aging option, those complaints basically disappeared.

There's still a very small group not happy with the feature (don't want 400 year old zoo) but I think the best solution without completely overhauling the game.

oh wow thanks guys, thats helpful! i didnt know that was an option. :)
id like to see a positive effect on some staff facilities, like the keeperhut can be interesting to see what animals eat what etc
