So forum whingers are whinging. This time it's about the honey-pot credit grind at Obsidian Orbital getting shut down by thargoid attacks.

People are saying the game is unplayable because they can't AFK farm credits while watching livestreams and Netflix, threatening rage quits, etc...

Someone made a comment that the community should pull together and repair the station if they really want their honey pot back, so it only stands to reason that if you want the game's economy fixed instead, you should actively work against the repair of Obsidian Orbital.

Come one, come all, it's time to lock down a gimped station. [big grin]

Um...no. There's no way to AFK farm anything with the Obsidian Orbital missions from Palin. You're thinking passenger missions.

Don't argue with me, argue with the people that're saying they're quitting the game because their favorite method of farming credits has been nerfed by the thargoids.

I'm thinking the real wailing and gnashing of teeth will happen with the new overhaul to mission rewards coming in Q1 that just got announced for the first time in the pending beta announcement. I'm willing to bet that will affect the passenger missions.

You've been through a few mission overhaul patches by now haven't you?

Everyone is going to be wailing and gnashing their teeth, because missions are going to be borked beyond recognition until summer, and then when the dust settles people will find out that fringe missions pay even better, giving even better honey pot runs, than was available previously.

We went from cargo runs at 10 mil an hour to 200 mil an hour doing passengers. Every bump in income resulted from a patch gone wrong that was eventually "fixed".

I'll point out at no time do I recall them ever saying "overhaul" before this latest announcement. I've seen words like "adjustment" and "tweaking" and such, but never "overhaul." That inherently implies a rather different thing entirely. And with it being an open beta we're going to all have the opportunity to give feedback on it before it goes live. I know I'll be in on the beta.

I just read that thread. I's almost enough to make me turn to the dark side, only because I blaze my own trail and how I play my game shouldn't affect theirs....
