After almost 12 weeks (an eternity in other words) of playing the game the combat and as such triple Elite finally popped. Honestly didn't think I'd manage it (thought of a CMDR reset more than once). The other two were grindy enough (achieved mostly pre 3.3, with some help from taking advantage of the occasional exploi... I mean, "gold rush") but combat... ooof. Didn't actively grind until about 60% Deadly, and the final 30% were achieved by farming Scouts which was tough going at times.

I know it's not a reflection of skill and it's just a status bar in a pooter game, but... am well chuffed:)

The real game begins now - to do whatever I feel like, might even get myself a tamagotchi aka SLF crew and train them up to Elite, one of my remaining bucket list items... without the feeling of prolonging the combat Elite grind.

Did I say how chuffed I feel? Yeah.. that much!

Oh - and before anyone brings it up; CQC isn't in the main game so doesn't exist as far as I'm concerned:p

Wednesday I think. I own one of the Wanderer outerwear packs because I thought my Cmdr looked like they were sitting in their grundies ;) Only thing I've bought from the shop in the last couple of years I think.

I've been eyeing up those for a while now... perhaps a little treat for the achievement is in order, a ton of booze and smokes will only keep my CMDR happy for so long...

Congrats yourself Phisto! Hope all is well in Colonia.

I've got quite a few of those paint jobs and will make ample use of the decal. It's pretty neat and the main driver for my grinding efforts recently.

You don't know my compulsive character, fat chance of sticking to that (after spending hundreds in the store, another fiver won't make a difference).

But generally I agree, it's not a bad idea at all.

You could try a rule like only buying ship skins & kits with cash, and any clothes, decals, nameplates & bobbleheads being earned if you think you would struggle to go the whole hog. Up to you what rules you set for yourself, but I initially struggle to stay motivated immediately after achieving some goal I've spent a long time working towards so having something else to focus on helps I find.
