Community Event / Creation Timelapse - Sparks Of The Galaxy

Hello Commanders !

I recently made a timelapse compilation I shot in Elite Dangerous, and I'd like to share it with you :)
I took me several hours to make, so I hope you'll enjoy it.
I'm actually filming the second "episode", so if you have any suggestions or any things to criticize, go for it !

Impressive and stunning.

Just keep doing that - one thing I have wondered is are weather systems on gas giants (or earth likes for that matter) dynamic or just a rotating textures?

From what I've seen, it's only rotating textures, but those textures aren't exactly the same for every planet.

Stunning, keep up the epic work :D

How about some time lapse from an outpost orbiting an earthlike, similar to the one nasa did from the ISS.

There is one particular outpost that would be awesome for this, I just can't remember the name!!

*edit* Azeban Orbital in Eranin, it orbits very close to its parent earthlike.

Thanks for you comment I appreciate.
I think I can do that for the next episode, even if I'm actually kinda far from inhabited space.

Well, I'm back after some quite slow progress on the second episode, because I don't know exactly what content I should put in it. So I'd like you guys to help me and tell me what you'd like to see from ED in timelapse (Suns, Gas Giants, Nebulas, Black Holes, Asteroids, etc ..., or even the names of systems where I'll be able to find marvelous things). I really liked the idea of Jon Flint, with a close-orbiting outpost [up].
In fact, this game as so much different things to visit that I can't really know what are the best things I can show you, and I'm afraid it would become too repetitive if I put the same content as in the first episode. The 'problem' is that I just make my way through random solar systems, and I can't guess what I'll found beforehand, so it takes a lot of time to find something interesting.

Hopefully, I'm on holidays so I'll have a lot of time to get all the sequences I want. I hope I'll be able to release this episode in the next two weeks, and even if I don't, I won't give up :)

PS: I'm not native english, so I hope you'll bear some grammar errors or stuff like that

I like how you always put things in the foreground. it helps so much get a feeling of space and vastness. For the rings try getting a little closer to see the material moving around in there. Do you use screenshots or video for all this? We use screen shots at a few seconds apart to save on drive space.
Great work!

Thanks for the comments :)

To realise the timelapse, I'm using a program (autohotkey if I remember well) that make steam take a screenshot every x seconds. Then, I change the value depending on how fast the planets, the background, etc... are moving.
I save the screenshots in specific folders on a 1To hard disk, so I don't have any stockage problem: usually, 1 screenshot is about 2Mo, and to make only 1 sequence, I use 300 to 700 screenshots.
Finally, I use After Effects to mount all the scenes together.

Welcome back Commanders !

I'm pleased to inform you that I just finished the second episode [yesnod]
Because I was pretty far from inhabited space, I decided to shoot the sequences while I was returning back home (I reached it this morning), so there is only one sequence with an outpost orbiting a planet...

Nevertheless, I found some stations that have really interesting orbits, like Azeban Orbital, so I'm gonna do something a little different for the next timelapse. There will only be 3 or 4 sequences, which will be approx 1min long each, with another type of musique; it will be something a bit different, but I'm sure you'll like it. I'll post the video once I recorded everything I want, in the next three days

As always, if you have any suggestion, or anything you want to say to improve the quality of the video (or just encouragements^^), feel free to comment ;)

So let's stop talking, and enjoy the video.
PS: Watch it in 1080p, it's much greater like that :)

Elite Dangerous - Timelapse - Planet Rising #3

I'm there with my new timelapse !
It took a bit more time that I first expected, but it's finally there; I first planned to shoot only 3 or 4 sequences, but that last 1 minute each, but I noticed it was way too long.
In this episode, I focused more on some beautiful stations you can find in inhabited space.

Here is the list of the stations I visited in the video:
Morukov Colony - LFT 269
Robigo Mines- Robigo
Robert Aitken Orbital - Firdaus
Low Hub - Asgarage
Maher Stellar Research - I Bootis
Bridger Town - Chi Herculis
Azeban Orbital - Eranin
Akers Market - Mulachi
Burnell Station - Sol

I hope you'll enjoy it, and don't hesitate to post a comment if you have any questions, any remarks, or anyn tips for me :)

Here is a new episode of my timelapses of Elite Dangerous :)

It took time to achieve, but I had some sequence I was not happy with, so I had to modify it many times :/
I added some new content in this one, such as Black Holes, beautiful Nebulas, and the Icy Rings of the new patch 2.1 :)

I hope you'll like it and if you do, or if you have any remarks to do, or questions to ask, feel free to post a comment below. Let me know what sequence what your favorite ^^
