Hey Frontier, loving everything I have seen of Planet Zoo so far with one exeption. Having played every zoo game ever released, I think the time progression in the game might be a problem, especially given the realistic lifespan of the animals. A Wolf for example has an average lifespan of 8 years. With the timescale at the moment, even on default speed, that means the entire life cycle of a wolf will be just hours of playing the game. This creates a big problem when it comes to identifying with your animals. Since they only live in your zoo for such a short time, you tend to view them as assets, not as personalities. This is a huge waste, given the fact that animals have their own personality in this game. What happenend in other games with such a rapid tim progression was, that I did not even bother remebering the animals name. In games like Wildlife Park on the other hand, timescale is very slow. Some animals are a part of your zoo for month while you keep expanding it, becoming iconic personalities.
If it is not to late for that, please consider adjusting other mechanics depending on timescale and slow it down. It would be a shame to breed the perfect animal, just to loose it a couple of hours later.
Kind regards,
Joe
