[tip] Fine tune your gamma and contrast

I've just been playing around with the gamma, contrast and brightness settings in the nVidia control panel, and found it has a major effect on the graphics in ED. This is probably not surprising, but it's something that's easily overlooked. You can 'fine tune' the graphics quite a bit with these settings, and the 'vibrancy' setting, to get the look that you really prefer. You get far more control that ED's in-game gamma slider.

I've been able to set mine up 'just so', to get the maximum detail out of the starfield background, and yet at the same time adjust the vibrancy so that things aren't un-realistically colourful. As I primarily use the Rift for ED and nothing else, this allows me to tweak the display settings to get just the right setting for ED. It makes a huge difference, and it's really easy to do - I recommend you take a look at it, especially if you've getting any issues with smearing or greenish-blacks.

Because ED doesnt show it's window when backgrounded, I've found it useful to have a static screenshot in a window, or on the desktop, when adjusting settings.

Happy tweaking !
