Horizons tip off unable to collect.

I completed first one, with no problems. apart from that there was hardly any cargo to collect ( 1 ton gold and a couple of narcotics. not that much value. tip off states high value cargo. disappointed so I thought I would do another I received.
I had not tried to find a location planet side before. it took some trial and error before I could work out how to get to the location. anyway back to the point.
this tip off sys I have go to hip 14840 and land on 14840 2 at lat 41.10 lon -68.57. I am now at lat 41.10 lon -68.5704. tip off states a crashed ship. there isn't anything here.

HIP 14840 ?
Is that the one with a Type 9 ?
There is no data core there, at least from my SRV scanner.
Just few cargo canisters, explosives and military intelligence though

Got out there last night -- a T9 with some pricey canisters, but no data core.

A bit disappointing, as I was hoping for the pay-off, but the adventure was fun.

The site looked like it has more than just a Type 9 wreck. I couldn't distinguish the wreck but clearly the wreck combined was much bigger than just 1 Type 9

Correct, the other stuff was just burned-our debris. I didn't find any other intact hulls.

One thing you can do is logout/login to recollect canisters. It's cheating, a little bit, but I choose to view it as a tip off to some really good combat salvage.

I did 3 Tip Offs so far this weekend and other than 1 UA, the effort has been pretty high compared to the reward considering we have no coordinate tagging. I have a stack of about 9 still to do and not sure if I will or not.

:eek:actual location of my target lat 41.1122 lon -69.6000 was an anaconda, no data to be scanned though there was a lot of cargo to collect:) also I got stuck in a position and couldn't get out of it. I had to destroy my srv.

Tip Offs seem to be rather variable. Some pay off much better than others. I think they might decay after a while, too, but I'm not sure on that. They are, however, different and interesting, at least the first few times, which is a good thing.

Some time later in the game, you will need a canister of military intelligence, so you'll be able to go back and get one, like the UA in the other tip-off.

I got stuck like that, best thing to do is logout to the menu and then back in again. It worksed for me after getting my SRV stuck on the top of a wreck I was exploring.

Cheers

ditto,
I was trying to get to the top of the anaconda using thrusters. when I came down I fell in between bulkheads and turned on my side. no matter what I tried I was wedged in, so tight that I could only turn my turret. luckily I had already collected most of the cargo. only had the one that was on top of the ship to collect :) in all lost around 20,000cr, so its not the worst outcome.
