Tips for finding assassination missions?

Which mode do you prefer? I like to work on these in Open, but that's me.

There's something about the pirate faction in these systems and the target system that causes assassination/massacre missions to spawn. It helps greatly to be allied with all of the local factions if possible.I find a bunch at 47 Arietis. Those and pirate massacre missions.

I think if a neighboring system has an anarchy system, they are more likely - the kill pirate Lord ones that is.
That is an untested hunch though, I just notice a lot for said targets in the nearby anarchy places, and might have dabbled in them...!

Specifically, for lawful assassinations, there needs to be at least one anarchy faction within a 10Ly radius. Also, expansion state hates assassination missions.
From there, it's just minimising the chance of other missions spawning ( minimal surface installations, chances of delivery missions)

Any systems in pirate attack state, civil war, and war are loaded with assassination missions
those are massacre, not assassination, i think.
You can get assassination missions- usually it's assassinate venerable general, or something like that.
