Tips for Trading?

I'm a terrible trader. Terrible.

I, at most, make 79k one way. Back in Beta 3 I found a nice set of 3 systems that all wanted each other's superconducters, and I would make 100k per run with a 112 (no shield) cargo hold on the Type 6. I probably just haven't found a sweet spot yet, and back in Beta 3 I was using:

www.elitetradingtool.co.uk

I've been near Turir, Walka, Theta Indi, Cheneti, and around there, and right now I'm in LTT 8648 (Probably doesn't ring any bells). I can understand the trading tools, but they are finnicky in the limit of 3 dimensions (lol, need the fourth dimesnion in tech already). So, basically, can someone give me tips, or an in-depth tutorial would be even better. Unless it's all you have, please don't put in a video. I'm using the Steam Overlay as I play Elite.

As always, in the words of Scott Manley, have fun, and fly safe.

0. Listen to Space trucking song from Deep purpple https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8zGJ9N7c6pE
1. Go to carebear mode , i mean solo mode
2.Fly around 20ly to see the prices get the trading data , look at the high demand suplies
3.Find a nice trade route that gives you profit by sending high demand suplies to a system from another system who are exporting them
4.Get a bigger ship
5.Get a even bigger ship
6.Get a lakon type 9 and die trading in solo mode
7.Get rich even more to spend it on ... well just to look at the numbers on your virtual account.
8.... dont know , who needs content when you have imagination?

Always start with a low-traffic but high-population High Tech or Refinery system, preferably one with a real starport. You want them to have a good supply of Consumer Tech, Progenitor Cells, Performance Enhancers or Resonating Seperators for the High Tech, or Beryllium, Gallium, Gold, Indium or Platinum for the Refinery. Then search the nearby systems for vice versa, also paying attention to demand. Superconductors are a candidate for either direction. Always stick to one jump, the shorter the better, and the closer the station is to the jump point, the better. Remember that as you grow, your jump range and maneuverability will decrease and your volume will increase. You can stick to a particular route longer if the conditions are right.

Outposts can make you some money in the short term, but they can't even land the big boys, and simply don't have the numbers to make long-term trading possible before you saturate the market.

Since it's Christmas, I'll give you a head start. Try Mudrama Kaze to Winifex in the heart of the Empire.
