Hello CMDR's.
I've taken on a new challenge presented by a friend. To start from Ervate with 30,000 credits in a stock sidewinder and get to an anaconda ASAP 100% in open, no logging, without insurance rebuys. There are some rules about what missions you can take and how many, but the big kicker of the moment is the challenge requires 100% FA off. I've only occasionally switch FA off in combat to maneuver, so I'm wobbly as all hell.
I know there are plenty of people out there who do this. I'm looking for some tips on
1. Getting in and out the mail slot
2. Lining up to high wake and aligning the ship's vector with the nose
3. Planetary landings without the dead cat bounce (or splatting)
4. Spotting landings on outposts since I'm too unsteady to glide in like I used to
5. Tricks with the controls to get the most out of things (or just not get stuck on the rack)
Currently playing with a thrustmaster 16000m stick and logi g13 keypad. No hotas in my future
but I'm only using the analog stick on the g13 as free look. Can the analog stick be used for thrust? Does that even make sense to do that?
