Tips on playing with friends

I know that multi-player hasn't been fully enabled yet so we can't do group play.
I'd like to play with a couple of friends tonight. We have planned on starting a wing and going bounty hunting.
The advice I have found to play with friends is just basically hope you guys wind up in the same instance. Has anyone been able to do this successfully? If so how? Any advice on how to meet up with friends?

My friend Juan and I always play this game. We've been able to use the "find in same instance" strategy very often, and it usually always works (maybe tried 14 times, succeeded 13 of those times) so yes, its very doable. When you're in the same instance its easy to go to the comms panel and add him to the wing through the "local" tab! Have fun and fly forward!

I haven't tried it yet, but in other xbox games, the usual trick is:
have every join the Party
for one player to start the game.
send a game invite to the rest of the party

It'd be a bug if ED does not put the joining players from the party into the same instance as the host.

I always found in other games that Xbox Party first was the easiest way to get everybody herded together.

Unfortunately i didn't have as much luck as ImmovableThrone when it came to getting in the same instance, my mate and I got put together 1st attempt but then the game crashed and we couldn't get back in the same instance the next 8 times after that. But once you do get in the same instance its very easy to wing up through the local tab.
