Route info ideas

Just open galaxy map and select each system in your jump path one at a time to read the words "Economy none" and then plan to buy fuel before crossing that system, or pair of systems.. If it is "Economy none".. no space station.

It does seem that fuel usage and information about jump ranges is a little buggy and not fully implemented. Sometimes a system I know I have range and fuel for will not show on my target list although the galactic map shows I can make it with current lading. After quitting and restarting the client that system appears on my target list. I haven't given it a lot of thought except "it's beta".

I've not been stranded, but...

I was looking to go to a new system and decided to take some cargo with me to make it worthwhile. I fuelled up & checked the Galactic map and the route was "grey", so I checked out how much cargo I could take. The route disappeared on 30 tons and reappeared on 29 tons.

So I bought 29 tons of cargo and launched from the space station. I aligned with the new system and tried to jump, and got some warning about it being too much fuel consumption.

I checked the map again and now it said that I'd need to be carrying less cargo - 26 tons. Of course, it had changed its mind after I'd launched. :p

1. The map needs to be accurate.
2. You should be able to buy fuel in increments, from stations and elsewhere.
3. It would be nice if I could see a current range figure onscreen at all times, while I'm buying cargo, buying fuel and equipment. In fact, I'm sure there are more pieces of information that we should be able to toggle on and off on our HUDs.

Never been stranded, but an accurate "Bubble" of available systems with current fuel/loadout and cargo would be a god send!

After launch I have fallen foul of the "too far to jump on fuel" warning!

There is at least one option missing :

"Make it harder. At the moment its nearly impossible to ran ouf of fuel. Besides that fuel have to be much more expensive"

That is exactly what happened, I like your ideas!

I bet the devs have a damn good laugh at the bods who run out of fuel, or moan they cant land without accidentally hitting the boost button or can't work out how to slow down when exiting supercruise.

If it was my office it would have a wall chart of the forum plonkers who can't seem to grasp simple concepts and there would be arguments about who should be at the top.

I'm assuming that a future update will include the ability to buy fuel as cargo for the explorers in us that will want to voyage into the dark unknown?

This way you refuel with what you have on your ship.

Cool story bro.

See you in space.

I have no clue HOW you can run out of fuel, but, let me get this straight, the OP has done it 'several times'! seems to me first you need to stop doing what you're doing.

HOW are you running out of fuel? it takes relativity little fuel to SC to a station, and refuel there.

I think there should be a way to fully plot a route/course so we can see the total fuel cost of the entire trip, rather than just by a jump to jump basis. When you drop out of hyperspace, the computer could have already locked the next waypoint of your flight plan into the nav panel too.
