Tired of Interdictions Pulling You Back 100ls? I Found a Workaround!

You've probably all had it, you're 1.1mm from your starport, and bam. Interdicted.
You submit, kill your attacker, or boost to safety. But your destination is now 100ls away.

Annoying right?

Well, i found a solution by accident!

If you get interdicted, and lock on to your interdictor, if they're really far out, slow down, but don't submit, and fight the Interdiction for a while.
If you win, bonus.
If you're losing, keep trying but bide your time, you'll notice they'll close to within a few 1000km of you. Then submit. :D

No more backwards teleportation. Lol

Only noticed how close they get after not setting my throttle to zero by accident, and wondering why it took so long to submit. :p

Must admit, I think I'd rather re-travel that 100Ls safe in the knowledge that my pursuer is already dead or, alternatively, just continue trying to escape in a straightforward manner instead of faffing around like that.

I suppose it doesn't hurt to have options, though.
Especially for those times when you're being pursued by 2 or 3 ships who're all taking it in turns to interdict you.
Course, in that situation the simplest solution is just to jump out of the system completely if you can.

Unless I am misunderstanding here it doesn't matter how close you are to your destination.
Just jump back to SC, it will always start the countdown at a large time interval it'll just count down faster, and at the famous 7 second mark, begin the regular slow down to drop procedure.

They don't cheat though (allegedly).

They do. I have proof!

I sure as hell can't land like that!

Magically? You mean 'drop at wake'? :p

Drop at wake at "magically fast times"... :)

As someone who frequently uses emergency drop in order to frustrate CG ganker's attempts, I can say for sure that NPCs approach and drop into wakes far, far too quickly...

I know that the NPC following and dropping into wake is hardcoded and not actually simulated, yet it's so quick it's practically magical.
