Tired of the Thargoids. When is the Post-Goid Era?

The Thargoids have been the center of attention and development for years. The Titans are cool, but doing the same battle 8 times gets repetitive. Every Titan is almost identical with a different name. The on-foot Thargoid soldiers are long overdue. They could've condensed all the Thargoid stuff in a short period. Instead, Frontier spreads it out like a thin layer of butter.

It's time for a post-Thargoid era with:
  1. New accessible planet types
    1. Earth-like worlds (clouds, rain, blizzards, snow, oceans, lakes, rivers, forests)
    2. Water worlds
    3. Gas giants
    4. Metal-rich volcanic worlds (lava lakes, volcanoes)
  2. Alien creatures for wild game hunting (see the Kickstarter videos)
  3. Better player-managed, minor factions (Powerplay 2 ?)
  4. Secret new feature (when will they unveil it ?)
  5. Ship interiors
  6. Base building
  7. NPC crewmates in the ship cockpit
    1. On-foot NPC companions
  8. Graphics upgrade for high-end PCs
  9. More accessible areas in stations
    1. Stations are huge so expand the small walkable areas
    2. The Concourses have only a few layouts
    3. Why can't we drink at the bar?
    4. Purchase apartments in stations
  10. Better and more-interactive NPCs
There are many features that would be very appealing for old and new players.

Not Soon(TM)

The last Wednesday of the month with the update either that Thursday or the following Tuesday.

  1. Ship interiors
Sometime

  1. Base building
Hopefully never.

  1. NPC crewmates in the ship cockpit
  2. Graphics upgrade for high-end PCs
  3. More accessible areas in stations
    1. Stations are huge so why can we only walk inside a small section?
We are being treated with the respect we are due.

    1. The Concourses have the same few layouts
    2. Why can't we drink at the bar?
    3. What about purchasable station apartments
  1. Better and more-interactive NPCs

Unfortunately there are many features that wouldn’t be, and there is a minor issue of funding anything major.

Maybe with the 40th anniversary of Elite (20 September 2024) or the 10th anniversary of Elite Dangerous (16 December 2014).

Sorry, but base building is one of the most likely upcoming features for ED.
I know and if there were to be any actual building involved I might be less unhappy about it.
But I suspect that the building process will be as involved and interesting as constructing an FC was.

1-10 might not come at all, and thats enough content for like 3 or 4 oddy sized DLC's. Thats about yet another 10+ years of waiting, assuming if game itself dont get into maintence mode again or being shut down at some point (highly unlikely but not entierly impossible)...

Dont get me wrong, I am all in for such features, but also I am seeing how game is developed since day 0, and pace of things leave me bit worried and certainly not being overhyped too much, its nearly 10 years, and it could be much more bigger, and better maintained that it did, only if frontier would fully focus on this game like they did in very first years.

They went instead for other projects, diffrent "cool" games whatever... on top of that, someone brilliant figured on frontier that elite on consoles would be nice few years ago, where it did actually stop game development (nerfs to game engine only for it to handle ps4/xbox) only to be canceled in end not long time ago. There is tons of other "bad choices" and overall tons of time lost.
Sorry, but base building is one of the most likely upcoming features for ED.
What gives and who said it is coming? Apart of upcoming (2 more) new ships and PP redesign, I have yet to heard about anything else from fdevs about future of this game, or correct me if I missed anything.

I haven't seen such inspirational game design since the old days on my Commodore 64 when I'd play to the end of the level and fight a 'boss' sprite. And when I beat it, I basically repeated the game again with a slightly higher speed and got to fight a slightly differently colored 'boss' sprite and that just kept repeating. :ROFLMAO:

Soon the Thargoid Period will end, and the Powerplay Age will begin

I would be ok with that, as long as Seo Yun-ae as the Thargoid apostle and Wycherley as the Guardian ROM construct join the roundtable too 🪄

It has been a little bit too quiet about those two lately, I think. Would be cool to fly a Thargoid faction ship again. At least I doubt the Thargoid content will be completely gone.

O7,
🙃

"I don't like something so clearly nobody else likes it either" isn't really a good way to make a point.

FDev know exactly what everyone is doing in the game at all times. They know how many people disembark and wander around inside fleet carriers now, compared to the week after that feature was released. They know whether buffing Exobio payments led to a ton more people exploring outside the bubble. And they know how many people saddle up to fight thargoids, or mine asteroids, or whatever.

Pretty sure you make a thread every few months asking for the same huge list of things and how they must be added to the game.

(you also know full well we're not going to be getting all of those things, and probably not any of them for a long time. Number 4 is the only one that's going to happen this year at least)

I don't think there will ever be a post Thargoid era, but as Rubbernuke suggests, and has have been obvious for quite a while, the answer to your thread title is when PP 2.0 launches.
