Ships tired to be that chicken

With top equipped Cobra due to power need I would like to buy a new ship that I do not have top run like a little chicken. 24 mcr in pocket can I get a top equipped fighter or do I have to save more money? (any sweds playing under Arissa Lavigny-Duval flag?)

24 mio will easily buy you a very very well outfitted vulture (i assume you want to go combat...). for outfitting the various threads in this forum. mine is 23 mio, and made for missiongameplay with a cargo rack...

the only thing you loose is flying the very best ship in the game, but you will come back to the cobra later.

assuming you are imperial, you could give the courier a try, too. it will be around 10-15 mio, and is a fun ship to fly with crazy strong shields (in that the opposite of a cobra)

The Vulture is an excellent fighter but it's power limitations mean you can have either powerful weapons or heavy shields or A grade thrusters, pick one, this severly limits the range of Vulture builds that work, this is what I use for PVE BH

Although it's a Fed shig the FAS is a formidable ship and just within your budget although you'll need a Fed rank to be able to buy it

Or wait for the new Viper and Asp in update 1.5

I was carried away when I found an imp clipper just 16mcr. It stands in the garage, waiting for me to pimp it.
Guess I need at least another 50 mcr. Always the same thing when buying hardware to big and expensive.

My favorite fighter is still the Eagle. A rank shield and power distributor, gimballed beam laser up top, 2 gimballed multicannons down below. You won't run like a chicken because just about everything in game that can kill you is faster than you. Instead, you'll giggle like a maniac as you out-turn them all, chipping pieces off of them as you go.

Until they run away from you.

And then turn around and blow you up.

But you'll still giggle.

Perhaps not the best build ever, but for me works well (at least against NPC) and re-buy cost is not that expensive.

You can downgrade Life Support and Scanners to D grade and with some priority settings you can equip even A grade Thrusters. Since I didn't like how Military Grade Hull behaves with B grade thrusters I reverted back to Light Alloy. With your budget (in Li Y space) you can buy Military Grade hull and get A grade thrusters.

90% money I made so far was from BH.

Beside this ship, I own Phyton, but it is still not a great fun to fly it (still requires some upgrades). As others noted, any ship after Vulture (with exception of Eagle) will feel sluggish....

FAS:

Yesterday I almost got kicked by FAS in Hazardous RES and was surprised how agile this ship was. Usually it isn't hard to out-maneuver other ship when you fly Vulture, but yesterday I was kind of slow and had hard time destroying that FAS...

I have rank for FAS, but didn't try it yet as I don't have spare money. I love my reliable Vulture so much that there is no chance that I will sell it. I would rather lose that Python than lose ship in which I earned so much BH credits.

If you don't care about low cargo space, don't mind short jump range and you don't mind playing with modules priorities, Vulture will be wise investment.

Imperial courier are insanely fun to fly, have strong shields and are super manoeuvrable. You can pick them up without any Imperial rank at the minute. Get to a Li Yong-Rui station and get a 15% discount
