Titan Cocijo on my FSS

Morning CMDR's, I've had elite ever since release and played off and on. Recently I bought Odyssey and i am so digging exploring now. It just cracked this game open like an egg for me. Anywho, i jumped into a system last and was using my FSS to interrogate the planets and the Titan showed up on my FSS. It wouldn't zoom into it or anything or give me any information on it. and I honestly I don't if this even matters. I wrote the system name if a more experience commander want to go look. My worry was that is was gonna show up and squash me like a bug.

I don't if this ground breaking news or what, I'm just trying figure out exploring. If I had to guess I would say I'm 500 to 1K ly from Sol.

Thank y'all for your time. Stay safe CMDR's

Travelling Titans (btw, good name for some kind of rock supergroup) show up on the FSS, yes. Before the Titans arrived in the Bubble, all eight of them showed up in the FSS while they were travelling.

Aaaaand that's the hint: Cocijo is travelling. To Sol, like rootsrat has said.

There should be bunch of Galnet News articles about that (right panel in your ship) as well as notifications in your inbox (upper panel).

@rootsrat Thank you! Good to be back I'm so enjoying it. I've seen the e-mail and have thought about heading back to Sol to get in on evacuating civilians, but 2 reasons I haven't all I have is my cobra and explorer, and I haven't learned enough on equipping my ship for passengers and defense in case of getting attacked. I'm afraid I'd be more a danger to the innocents than the looming attackers.

@Lhorndra Thank you for the reply! I saw where it was traveling to Sol in my e-mail and in the garnet. I listened to it the other night while sitting on some rock in some system.

One question? Seeing the Titan on my FSS does it mean that it was in that system? I read something after my post saying that it has been picked up on the FSS as far away as Sag A? Also is the explorer a good enough ship to evacuate civilians in?

All you need is an Orca that can boost over 500 m/s and is equipped with ECM :) The boost is to escape the Thargoids and ECM is to try and disable their missiles that reboot your FSD, adding extra 30 seconds to your escape. Once you get Allied with all the factions, the 30-50 million Cr missions are a common occurrence, so quite a good money source currently as well.

Titan flying through hyperspace emits signal strong enough to be picked up from any place in the galaxy. Nothing to worry about ;)

@rootsrat Thank you again! Maybe this evening I will start heading back to Sol and start evacuating civilians. I think I have 154 million credits not sure if that is enough for an Orca and the equipment I need but it does sound like it'd be fun to help in this undertaking.

Well, there are two ships called Explorer. The Diamondback Eplorer can only transport 28 people when fully equipped with enonomy class cabins. In my opinion, this is not worthwhile. The Asp Explorer can transport 64 people max, that's a better deal.

In order to run away from all things Thargoid, your ship should have an ECM and be able to boost over 500 m/s. If you unlocked the engineer Felicity Farseer, your Asp might be able to do that, barely. Felicity can apply a grade 3 Dirty Drives blueprint. If you have unlocked Prof. Palin, your Asp will be able to boost over 500 m/s.

The Orca is definitely a better option, but there are many options and many personal preferences. Here is a thread where other CMDRs share their evacuation ships.

By the way, you can plan and calculate these kind of things with two really great online tools: Coriolis and EDSY. With those, you can also see how much a fully fitted ship is going to cost, how fast it can boost etc.

@Lhorndra Thank you for those links. I was just looking for a site like that. I do have Farseer unlocked. Not sure what all upgrades she's done for me if any. I'll research that today in my free time and also check out those sites for a build. I had a sol permit before this titan started it's shenanigans, I lauched out of the Abraham Lincoln to go exploring. Thank for that thread link I'll read that as well.
