Titan X-P Owners - I need Your Settings.

My Titan X-P should be here within 24h if my luck holds. [haha]

I want to get my Vive hooked up ASAP and wondered what settings would work best with that card in Elite?

Cheers.

Probably the same as with the other high end cards, like the 980 ti, and the 1080. Everything at max, and super sampling at 2. If you are not fully satisfied with the fps try reducing the SS to 1.5 or even to 1 before anything else I guess.

Hehee you're buying the most powerful gaming card GPU on the planet, and you're asking what settings it needs? :D

Seriously, its quite a bit faster than a standard GTX1080 - I'd max all the regular settings but

Blur Off (not needed),
Shadows at medium
Ambient Occlusion to medium
Depth of Field Off
AA - SMAA

TitanXP will maintain a good frame rate in VR with 1.5 HMD Quality. I'd leave ED's SS at 1.0, in my opinion, HMD Quality is more desirable.

I think you'll still see momentary frame drops in all the usual places (on exit from jump, on entry to stations, on bringing up menus in stations etc), but from the video I've seen its pretty good at maintaining 90 or near-90 raw fps pretty much everywhere in ED.

Yup. Always ask people with experience. Saves a lot of time fiddling. Oh and just got the customs clearance note. May not be able to get it until Saturday though. :(

I suspect I'll start with what I have now. Steam SS 1.5, game .65 with the suggs you made. Then I'll try SS1.5 and game 1.0 as some have said higher SS in-game cleans up the text up a bit.

From there, I'm not sure. I'll have to look at the stats for temps and performance before I push it further. Thanks.

I don't think the temps etc will hold you back.

You want to find a busy scene (combat zone in asteroids etc, or some decent sized ground base with skimmers flying everywhere).
Then load up the Oculus Debug Tool - you need the App Render timing HUD visible
This will show you how much 'spare' GPU power you have.... then push the detail and HMD Quality/SS until you're starting to see ATW kick in (missed frame submits will increase.... every time a frame misses the deadline you'll see an ATW frame).

To be honest I think you'll find HMD Quality 1.5 and SS 1.0 to be the best all-round sweetspot with everything else maxed out, save blur off, depth of field off, and possibly a slight drop to shadows and Ambient occlusion.

This hud also shows the 45fps drop when ASW cuts in... you want to stay away from that by using (NumLock on) Ctrl-Numpad-1 mode (ASW off).

Edit: let us know how it goes... might upgrade too :p

Got it and installed last night. Didn't get a chance to run VR on my Vive as I had to uninstall GeForce Experience and all drivers, then reinstall the latest versions. My PC was tied up with GeForce Exp re-indexing my 400 games, which took a while.

I did run it on monitor and had Afterburner active. 1080 @ 60 FPS everything maxed on Ultra, the GPU avg load was 28-32% with temps in the 50-52C area. Wow. I did up the default fan speeds from default and did not O/C anything. Did a SteamVR test as well. Results in my sig line. Roughly twice what I had with the MSI GTX 980Ti 6G Gaming.

Will test VR tonight (and all weekend). Will begin with Steam VR SS @ 1.5 and Elite @ 1.0. It's easier to change Elite settings through Dr. Kaii's profiler.
