General / Off-Topic Titanic Honor & Glory

I assume that most people, especially the adults amongst you are interested in the history of the Titanic. Well, if you are, there is a new game in development that is well advanced and this is just no ordinary game, it is an educational experience as well. Some of you may already know about it, but for those that don't log on to the official web site link below and read everything about it. There is a wealth of information about this upcoming game as well as lots of video clips and even a downloadable Free Demo of how the game is progressing. This is a mammoth undertaking and has been in production for a number of years. The detailing and graphics that are being put into this game, will blow your mind away and you will not see anything more detailed in any other representation of this famous White Star liner, that met its fate on that terrible night of April the 14th 1912.

I'll leave you now, with what I have already described here, to make your own judgement about what you think about this new game, which won't be ready until 2017 or maybe early 2018, as it is a massive project and there is still quite a lot to do yet. Do download the Demo, it will give you a better idea of what the game will look like when it's finished. But you are going to have to have a high spec computer for the finished game and it is being made compatible for VR as well.

Click on all the tabs from the Home Page, there is a wealth of information to read, which will take quite a while for you to go through. Although this game id being Crowd funded it is well under way at this stage and has many top historians and other Titanic bodies supporting it. It is well on the way to becoming completed as funding is strong.

This looks to be an excellent idea! I'm not personally old enough to have seen the Titanic first hand of course... [mouth shut] But as a kid I was obsessed with a book that told the story of the titanic from conception to disaster. That got me to reading about Brunels ships too, then into playing games like Theme Park, RCT, A-Train. And eventually it got me to be the real life engineer I am today!

I think these look amazing, but a little creepy. What do you think?

Thank's for these links Nemmie. No I hadn't seen these. I new about the Aussie billionaire who was building a replica Titanic, but whether it will come to fruition, remains to be seen. It was supposed to have been completed for 2016, but there has been nothing much said about it since he announced it in 2013. I doubt whether it will ever be completed even for 2017.

The Titanic was a bit before my time too Deuce. [haha]
But I have loads of books and all sorts of other memorabilia about this ship, because it has always fascinated me ever since it was discovered at the bottom of the Atlantic in 1985. I also have some amazing DVD's on the exploration of the wreck site.
I only recently came across this game Titanic Honor & Glory and have been following all the latest information about it. If it gets finished, which I think it will, it will be well worth buying a copy. The team developing the game are as dedicated and passionate, as Frontier are about PC, and there is a great deal of interest in this project world wide. I think it is going to be a brilliant game as well as the best representation of the real Titanic, ever done before. As you can see for yourself, on their website, they are really putting everything in to this game and I think they will succeed.

I've also been keeping an eye on this. I was born in Southampton, so I know a fair bit about the history. In fact, I was involved in the centenary events commemorating the sinking.
