It's funny how no one cared about this before they saw that maquette of the head.
We never even see the head properly in the film and have no way to knowing if the design is even the same. After all, the Parasaurolophus in the film and the maquette aren't the same either in TLW. Nor the Pteranodon.
The one we have is already based on the design in TLW. We don't need an extra skin. If anything, it's mainly just the posture that's not exactly the same.

Even though the Mamenchisaurus from the frontier design is really cool although I wouldn't mind more diversity even if it meant a new skin for the species to match that of the Lost World Jurassic Park 1997 Mamenchisaurus don't care what it looks like as long as it looks similar to its movie counterpart. More diversity is good.
The Pteranodon definitely needs its Lost World Jurassic Park 1997 Cosmetic Skin. Still love diversity amongst the skins for this flying reptile and we are still missing one of the best Pteranodon skins from a movie I really enjoyed as a kid .

Like I said, no one noticed or cared for ages before that maquette of the head was more well known. And we do not know if it's canon since we don't really see if it even matches with the design in the film.
This just screams obsession with canon for the sake of canon when we don't even know if it's canon.
I don't really care about the Canon personally but I pretty much use it against Universal every single time they say that they won't let Frontier include certain things into the game.
Well truly the one that everyone knows that cares about the Canon is pretty much Universal since these Jurassic world evolution games circle around the Canon. Don't know why. But it seems Universal is the only one that actually cares. I guess they learned their lesson from making all of those other games and not actually making them official.
Anyway personally I don't care what the animal looks like as long as we have more diversity even amongst the skins.

You've pretty much nailed it. There's this part of the community, a loud minority, that really behaves like some sort of cult. I would call them 'canon cultists' in this context.
They've developed this obsession over things that aren't even part of the films (or just barely), just maybe mentioned or namedropped in some PR stuff or the books once, and they will repeat it over and over again with no end, amplifying it further in their own minds and those of others that think alike, creating a vicious circle basically.
It's crazy if you ask me. It really gets tiring after some time, reading it over and over again, always the exactly same unnecessary stuff.
Don't talk about what you don't know. I noticed the difference as soon as I put my eyes on it in the game. I've always paid extra attention to sauropods because they're my favorite, so any change in their appearance, no matter how small it is, will be noticed by me and will bother me. As I speak for myself and as I have the right to fight for what I want, I will continue to ask for this model in the game. If even the Dominion Dimorphodon version and the 1993 Triceratops model were added, I'm hopeful that many things like that could happen in the future as well.

Just deal with it because this is a community that involves Jurassic Park. And I don't think you ranting about the community that loves the franchise and the Lore and books and wanting all of the stuff from the books and movies into the game and if you still have problem then don't respond to those threads block us then. It's just that as far as I remember, no one mentioned the Mamenchisaurus design in the first game, nor when this game first came out. I could of course be mistaking. But it seemed to me that people are basing it on that maquette, which we do not know if it's accurate since we never get a close look at the head in the actual film.
There might be some differences sure. But it still doesn't make sense to ask for a 1997 skin. Since this is already the 1997 skin. It's just that it doesn't exactly match like you said.
At the very least, I think they should change the base color from that weird green color. I know I can change it, but I hate that I have to.
