Take advantage of the increased rare-Diso Ma Corn capacity at Diso while you can! The increased allotment will expire on June 15th.

It is the best beginners/low investment opportunity to make money right now, You can take advantage with a Hauler, Adder, Cobra(good), Type-6 (better), or Asp(best). You want a ship with the longest jump range possible and able to hold up to 50 tons of Diso Ma Corn. The maximum amount corn you can buy is 50 tons.

Go to Diso - Dock at Shifnal Port - Buy all the Diso Ma Corn you can hold (360cr/ton, max 50 tons) - Pick ANY system at least 140 LY away (no further than 160ly) - Sell for 13-15,000cr profit/ton. - Head back to Diso EMPTY and repeat.

You can make up to 775,000cr profit for 50 units of corn. Depending on your jump range and fuel scoop class/rating you can make a round trip in about 15-18 minutes.




EDIT: Thanks to DeadEye_DK, there are some profits to be made on the return trip

"There is a couple of stations 150ish LY away, that sells rare goods too, that you can choose to travel to.
Heike system have Tea, although not many in stock.
Gilya have weapons, I usually see 8+, but they are probably illegal in Diso.
I think Bast have some Bast Snake Gin, but have yet to go there.

Did they finally turn it back on? When the 1.3 Beta started, someone flipped the switch early and the available stock dropped back to normal levels.

Yup. there was a Community Goal that increased the normal allotment to 50 for a limited time. I suspect, but cannot prove, that it may have been done to help folks beef up their bank before 1.3 released. :D

"Rares" are items exclusive to that station/system. Sold in very small quantities, their buy price is very low but their sell price increases the further you travel from place of purchase. The sweet spot seems to be 140 to 160ly from their origin.

Rares are great for making money in smaller ships until you can get a Type 7 where bulk trading regular commodities becomes more profitable. The Diso 50 ton corn allotment was a reward for a recent community goal where it would normally only stock 7 tons.

Look, the one annoying part of being victimized and baited into their hands is that although a big part of the players announced on Youtube what they seek to do, it has not gotten into the Galnet News nor Missions. It has totally no conection with the Status Quo yet it represents a warzone. Do not get a Wing to bait you around these areas.

It's very safe if you only do the Diso corn run. The only chance of interdiction is when you jump into Diso and supercruise to Shifnal Port, but you have no cargo anyways.

Thanks for the hottip! I didn't participate in that CG, and I just got an ASP that has a 64 spot. My trade rank is still penniless, I guess it's time to pad that.

Twice I have seen this assumption written here.

A trader, a hauler, move from A to B empty?

What?

Diso, must buy something and even if it is only 5cr per ton profit, that is still profit against costs etc. Haulage rule No.1, never run an empty wagon.

That is true for general trading but not here as there is nothing worth while to sell at Shifnal Port. It will only slow your return trip, reducing your overall profit/per hour.

Thats great to know! I remember stopping by Bast once and seeing the snake gin, but dont remember how many they stocked. Mind if I post that info into the OP?
