To FDev employees - thank you for your efforts

I just watched the live streams and it was nice to see the in office footage of the dev teams at work.

Nice to be reminded you're human beings and working hard for a game you love as much as we do.

So I wanted to thank you all for your efforts and to let you know they are greatly appreciated by me and I'm sure vast majority of the community.

Looking forward to 2018 and Beyond ;).

I was there and they did a great job talking to people (even DB was out chatting), and generally showing just how determined they are to keep improving. have to say the guest talks were really interesting too, especially the dinosaur one which was way more interesting than I expected.

In a world where developers are becoming more corporate and publishers are more and more money-grubbing, it's nice to see people work or talk about a game that aren't soul-less robots in it for the money. There's a passion behind the people making this game and honestly very few people see that.

It's also nice their passion is being rewarded by piles of currency, tho. Seeing them grow and become more successful than ever is really satisfying to see. Transitioning into self-publishing was SUCH a good move.

I have to say you all looked like you enjoyed working there, which is great. love the passionate approach.
Nice to see people enjoying going to work. where I am its terrible you are undermined and wonder if this week is your last.

Thanks for all you hard work fdev , I'm very appreciative, I love the game

Fully support this thread. I know the criticism comes from a place of wanting the game to be better, but the majority of the critics either seem to forget the real people they're talking about, or don't care.

The more balanced of us tend to post less, and be less loud, but we are here. We know you work on complex stuff and it's not always possible to get stuff right all the time!

I think we give them enough stick that a little praise is also necessary for the game I've played more than any other in my library by an order of magnitude :)
There's nothing wrong with praise, when it's earned. Right now, it's all talk. Would you praise someone for, let's say, curing cancer, when all they've done is said "we're going to cure cancer."? No way. So, if you want to praise them, wait until they deliver.

I kinda said that before, but apart from loving Elite as a game and the passion the devs put in it, the way FDev treats people, customers or not, makes them my favorite company ever. Always respectful, thoughtful, human. These are things which sadly are not very common, but needed a lot in my opinion. Actually from everyone. So thanks for being like that as a company and for creating these wonderful games.

Thanks for all the stuff you have achieved, all the work you've put in. All the stuff that's been noticed - the game is so much more than it was a couple of years ago. All the things you're working on that we haven't seen yet. All the stuff that you've put in the game but we haven't found yet. All the technical fixes that we never see or even know about but are there. Thanks for putting up with the comments on these forums, there's lots more to do as you know but glad you're working on it and looking forward to the next stage on the road.

One other thing I noticed Frontier now has lots of experience building planets with people and buildings on them and animating basically "alien" life:), The Jurassic Park screenshots looked amazing but it would have been doubly so with an imperial cutter landing rather than a boring helicopter:)! I'll keep my fingers crossed - one day perhaps!

thank you for the grindfest.

*buys a shipkit and paintpack

and no doubt i'll be buying a paint-pack for the chief if they keep that design. urrgh its so beautiful, whoever designed that needs a raise.

Thanks to FD for all the hard work they put into the game. Since I can be pretty vocal about what I don't like, it seems only fair to underline the good as well : kudos to all the wonderful people developping ED :)

Yea my saline levels have been a bit too high recently, FD do do a great deal of good work; shout out to the audio&visual guys especially. I moan about the game because I see the potential not 'cause I hate it.

I would like to add my thanks to all the team at Frontier. I've argued for some time that we needed some peeks at things and we got them.....not at all the things I would like, like the exploration tools, but what we did get was cool. Must say you had me worried for a bit, carefully avoiding mention of anything for explorers until later in the Elite: Dangerous segment. Love the look of the Chieftain, the Krait, the Galnet audio, the new planet tech and sound of the mining upgrades in particular. Well done Frontier. There'll be haters and naysayers, but while I think I would have liked a bit more detail here and there, I think the team is doing pretty well. And now I'm wondering more about those things that David said they can't talk about yet, even things also coming through 2018.....

Seconded. What they showed for 2018 is beyond my expectations. There's no space legs or atmospheric landings (afaik), but the things they showed are major core improvements with new stuff as well.

I wish to extend this thanks and wishes as well! Fdev u give me such an awesome, vivid, engaged, emotional galaxy playground! ED now been my most played game ever! May u continue to make this dream even more engaging!

Yeah, I wandered into the dino talk half way to find them presenting results of studies which extracted 65 million year old tissue samples from fossils and other studies involving mutant chicken experiments. Seriously fascinating stuff.

There were some really good talks.
