To Iorant gm-l c21-0 and back – around 170000LY trip

Why Iorant gm-l c21-0? It was the furthers system I managed to get to – 65138 LY from Sol

But - from beginning.
Before Christmas last year I set off for Sagittarius A*. On the 30th December my game got stuck on loading screen until 6th January when someone fixed it... for a day when this happened again. I raised a ticket and I received this message.

So I stared again from Sol on the 7th and 3 days later I reached Saggittarius A* - my goal.

I shared my achievement on Facebook page of First Great Expedition and I got carried on. Looked other side of Milky Way and I started the grind again. It was quite easy until the last few thousand of light years – empty space between Scutum- Centaurus and Carina – Sagittarius arm where stars were so thin I had to plan 140 LY ahead my path in order to not to got stuck in a blind alley. Then few days later after taking multiple approaches and carefully studding the stars I reached it on night 19-20th. Below how Milky Way looks like from there. Very thin and very, very far

I started tactical come back but I really didn’t want to come back the same way. So quick look at the map and I decided to come back via Carina – Sagittarius arm until I reached on the 6th Cat’s Paw nebula and the same day Sol. Now I sit in Deadalus guts trying to sell my data. So far 9033 systems visited - I really don’t know how much of those are from this trip. I know it's only a game but - in any games I never felt so lonely and far away.

I estimate I made around 170000LY from 07/01/2015 to 06/02/2015 and my rocket was damaged on 22%. If I made mistake in my estimations - apologise.

This how looked like my whole trip (terribly sorry for this quick photoshop job):

Superb Journey! Kudos for making it there and back. Repped!

Now to spend a few days selling your data ;)

Really great trip detail. It's interesting you waited until you were "back" in the game to a home system before posting here. I took at trip out in Beta when the pill was enlarged and remember that feeling of loneliness that you describe, although my trip was nowhere near yours in terms of duration or distance.

What ship did you use? I don't recognise the cockpit, so might be an Asp which I've yet to save up for.

And does it default to blue HUD? All my ships are orange, which I though was a standard.

Or you wait a few days until Patch 1.1 goes live, then you can sell a whole page at once instead of entry by entry.

Anyway, epic journey. You have my utmost respect.

Brilliant! Kudos for making it back, man you have some stamina! I haven't played my guy much since reaching the far side as I was a little burned out with my journey out there, but I'll begin the journey home soon (waiting to see if the 1000 LY route planner can find a path out to the very edge of the outer rim before I leave this place forever).

On your route back did you notice much content? Procedural nebulae and star clusters? I was a little disappointed that the far side lacks the kind of environmental content the Orion arm has. I guess FD didn't expect players to be exploring this far out so quickly so haven't got around to putting interesting stuff out here yet?

Nice idea to use voice attack to flog the data :D

@johhny - you need to manually edit "GraphicsConfiguration.xml" file in folder EDLaunch\Products\FORC-FDEV-D-1002 . then in this section replace it to:
<GUIColour>
<Default>
<LocalisationName>Standard</LocalisationName>
<MatrixRed> 0, 0.33, 0.75 </MatrixRed>
<MatrixGreen> 0, 1, 0 </MatrixGreen>
<MatrixBlue> 1, 0, 0 </MatrixBlue>
and yes it's an ASP
@MADmanOne - I've heard it's not going to be this easy. anyway - I feel like I will burn one of ED's server if i press mythical "sell all"button. Thanks a lot

@Erimus - litteraly I saw 3 nebulas on my wa back but i wasn't bothered to go there. I am somehow dissapointed too that they put so little there. from what I've heard - they focus on other things now than putting nebulas here and there.

I bow to you sir.

I go on a 10000ly trip and feel the loneliness and it too can at times feel grindy, but seeing something new always gives me a boost to carry on. Epic, epic journey, now if only I could summon up the courage to follow in your footsteps. +1 only cause they won't let me give you more.:D

Yep, that loneliness when you haven't seen anyone in days or weeks can get to you especially when you go on a run of 1 sun systems with nothing but ice balls(especially when still using an intermediate scanner). Then you find that awesome thing or see that awesome sight and get a good screenie and it is all worth it.
Also +1 to Jedi and Op

Thank you for taking time to detail the colour change, but it looks a little complex to me, fiddling with backend game settings, so I'm happy to stick with the standard orange. I'd be worried about messing up the game and not being able to play, or invalidating FD's warranty, etc.

Another great explorer returns!

Look forward to reading about this in Galnet, First Half Circumnavigation of the Galaxy completed by ....

+rep

Glorious! I haven't bought the game yet, I'll probably make it my graduation gift to myself in a couple of months, but I'm already thinking about exploring! Man, I imagine you're the first one to go that far! I'm betting Columbus is envious :D

It will be interesting to see how much the expo data is worth and what your rating jumps up to! That is a serious trek!
