To much food

I'm keeping my eye on this from now on, but I think this keeper gave to much food to these zebras. These are just mediocre sized animals. Not the best when I bought them. There are 7 of them in this habitat, and it seems they had on one trough enough and than walked away. It may have been the cold rain. This is the north of America.
But I noticed they just ate from one trough and than walked away from it.

Overfeeding is bad. Because it makes it very hard to make a profit. I'm doing fine, but I think this may be a reason why this challenge is failing.

And than suddenly that same year my food price is three times as high as normal. Also that keeper neglected to feed my goliath frog, just when the inspector was walking in. Fine $500. I find it strange behavior.

I think she's having problems at home and need to go on sick leave :)

Happens in my zoos all the time as well once there are more than just a few animals in an enclosure. I'll have a bit more enrichment feeders than needed + a food tray..and not only do they fill all of them up, they often dump more food on the ground. I think something is askew with how they calculate how much food is needed per animal once there are more than just 2 or 3.

I don't think it's a bug. Maybe the AI get's confused when there is to much happening, me clicking the "call keeper" button, Goliath very hungry and Zebras constantly different numbers in the habitat. I always panick when a keeper is not on break and still an animal is getting hungry. I even got protesters for a few seconds.

Well, after seeing it several times in a row, I have decided to report it as a bug. That same keeper, even after taking the exibit off her schedule, keeps on giving 3 times more food than necesare. I kept it back because one zebra was pregnant, but that excuse doesn't count anymore. It takes away all my profit.

Remember that a staff member that was already in the middle of something will finish it even if you take it out of their work zone. So, if the keeper was already headed "to" the habitat in question, removing it from the their work zone won't stop them from checking it...and if it needs food (or cleaning) they will do that too, because it counts as what they were already in the middle of doing.

Just saying, before you report that part as a bug, make sure you let the game cycle the keeper completely through some other habitat that is in their work zone before you question them going into one that you removed.

Yes, but this was already the third time she gave to much food. I'd put an other keeper on the exhibits. But Okay, I give it one more year this way. She has only one habitat on her schedule now. Let's see how it works. I normally don't do multiple habitats to a single keeper. One keeper on one habitat is normally good enough profit for me.

Well, she surely has a big problem maintaining that habitat. 9 zebras already. I released some to the wild now.
Or maybe it has something to do with the lack of enrichment. Maybe keepers are better at feeding that.

I have the feeding cost bug too. I had +200k every year now the feeding cost exploded and i have sometimes -70k. I got this after adding lions. Looked at the log of the habitat. Feeding cost 230k per year for 4 lions and 3 cups quality 1. What are they feeding? Wagyubeef??
