Engineers To Pin or not to pin???

Im not exactly sure what pinning a blueprint does.
The explanations are pretty vague.

Is this just a recipe you can check back on to see the materials you need without the need for writing them down in a notepad?

Exactly that. It appears on the Engineers menu on the right UI in the section for that Engineer (at the bottom)

just take screen shot of every blueprint and have the folder open on other monitor or on phone. Much better than having only one per engineer with you. Stupid for frontier limiting pinned blueprints to only one.

What also happens (off screen though) is that your character will build a little altar with incense candles, little relics of unspeakable origin and occasional small sacrifices to appease and appeal to the RNG gods. That's where they spend their time when we're not playing chanting ancient long-forgotten rhymes I dare not speak more about here.

I would like experiences of people looking for material that is in the pinned blueprint, , maybe when you pin a blueprint it will influence the RNG and is harder to find the materials.

let we share experiences here of this can be true

well, hard to test? my impression is, it is mainly my mind suggesting it is harder to find something i'm looking for right now...

@OP one of the good things about pinned blueprints is you can see easily, what you still need for it --- differently to to alt-tab spreadsheet or notes...
