to stay or not to stay, that is the question!

So? What to do now?

So, ive been at Beagle Point for about a week now. I was waiting for Jaques to appear but theres still no sign of him or his station.
Now the question is.... shall i wait, probably all eternity, for Jaques to finally pop up or do i start the Journey back to the civilization where i finally can buy some Donuts. I havent had one of those in months [yum]

Im not sure what to do now, really....

i decided to stay a little longer because i don't believe FDev would lure us into waiting for eternity. They basically told us that Jaques would be around and gave no hint that he wouldn't. I believe they are not _that_ cruel. So i'll wait.
And if he hasn't appeared until June 17th then i'll kill my ship, wave those nice scans good bye and rejoin the bubble folks.
Or maybe i ask support if they want to beam me back to the bubble so i can take the screenshots of my detailed scanned bodies when selling the data and test them on my screenshot scanner tool.

But one way or the other i'm gonna be back in the bubble on 17th :)

This is a very very hard choice because I'm at 50% hull( flying tired entirely too much) so if I wait I can get repaired and bank my data if he comes. Also I'm on xbox and even if I buy horizons now there's no point to it until I can get to a station to get orbital outfitting done to land on planets. So no station means no horizons. I imagine I'm not the only cmdr facing this dilemma and therefore frontier is costing themselves money if Jacques doesn't show, which makes me think he will. So I am going to wait and look around nearby systems to maybe find something.

I'm keeping my Conda at BP for a bit and I'll amuse myself with my other account...how long I couldn't say but would be cool to see the station (assuming it hasn't been BBQ'd by a Neutron Star or taken over by Thargoids.)

If you buy Horizons now, you will magically have a Planetary Approach Suite appear in your ship. So you would be able to fly down to planets and land. You just wouldn't have an SRV.

I'll hang around at Beagle a few days more, perhaps another week before I set off.

I am staying around BP for a while because:

1. I have a shopping list of materials that I need to get me across the Western region of the Galaxy; and

2. After 142 days of travel to get here, I just cannot face any more Jonking for a while. I am just going to fly around the local systems and prospect.

3. Felix will need company and moral support!

If Jacques appears then I shall make use of the Repair Shop...and the Cocktail Bar.

I've flown happy...and will do so again, just not for a while.

Keep hoping to catch people hanging out at Darwin's Legacy...only seen one person there so far. Probably victim of instances. [rant] We need to be able to place coordinate markers on surface and the stupid compass needs to work in ALL flight modes [/rant] sigh.....back to your regularly scheduled thread.

Maybe ill wait a lil longer ... Like a week or so. And then make my way back to the Donuts. Maybe go west and instead of straight back towards Sol. Hmm, still not sure tho

I'm not sure how the magic works. If only one person was concerned, then it'd be as simple as lighting a cigarette at a bus stop is guaranteed to produce a bus - by leaving Beagle, Jaques would be magically summoned and would appear at Beagle at the most inconvenient point of your travel home. But when there's hundreds of people I guess the spell gets confused; we'd all have to agree to do one thing or the other.

It's possible that Jaques is stuck in magical limbo (Witchspace(TM)) until we collectively decide.

I suppose it's possible that if we had a few people who were really, really keen for him to turn up, they could make a noble sacrifice by turning for home, and the collective weight of their frustrated desire would trigger Jaques' arrival (for the remaining but less-keen observers) as they trailed past Sadge on the way back to the Bubble.

I'm hanging around at BP (in Open), not seen anyone since Sunday. My second ship (Cmdr Brian Cohen) is well on its way home currently 34Kly's from SOL. Not sure how long i'm staying, maybe another month or so. It's been a godsend having the second account so I can do something different. If any of my ingame friends wants a second basic account I received a code with my new X52Pro which I won't be using (3 accounts is too much). You could then upgrade it to Horizons for £19.99. You will need to create a second FD account to use.

Fly safe.

I just hope Jaques's disappearance isn't something as uninteresting as FD having forgotten to put him back at BP. Having said that, I think if everything went ok, he was supposed to be there already, so hanging around BP for something that may or may not happen.. I personally wouldn't. If it was me I'd start my way back, but exploring and not buckyballing. That way if he shows up in, say, a week, it wouldn't be too late to race back to BP.

Spent a fair amount of time in Open and never saw another CMDR...I know people are around, can't be that many that we are all in different instances. Btw, I got brave and used some mid-level boosts to check out a couple systems past BP....sad no landable planets, but was cool to do.

i was at darwins legacy today and then went off to explore that huge crater on BP2. Never saw a commander either. But found half a dozen yttrium within 20 minutes. I feel that is a lot more common now than before.
the next days i'll prospect for polonium on BP7. come and join me if you like.
