I'm heading along the arm in the vague direction of the Sublustris Beacon. I probably won't go that far along but I want at least to get away from the direct Sol - Sadge line before I turn for home. Can't wait any longer and it's good to be moving again. :)

I´d probably do a detailed survey of surrounding systems, looking for the station or its... remains. This is by all means great adventure, even if you dont find a thing... be what a true explorer is meant to be... eyes and ears in the void.

the problem with this looking for jaques somewhere else is that it's a needle in a haystack. if he's just 50-100ly from BP, okay then.
everthing else is pretty much undoable. You could spend a lifetime up there exploring every system and you'd never find him while never getting far from BP at the same time. Even with the few stars there is just so many places he could be.

The decision point for me was when I realised I cared more for getting back than I did hoping he'd turn up. As in: if he did while I was travelling back to the bubble I would not be upset enough to turn around.

I'm a little over 8KLY away now, and trying to BB back, but I keep finding shinies... stumbled on an Earth like that did NOT look like one, and my first Ammonia moon (around a rocky world, not a gas giant). It looks like the explorer bug has bitten again.

Still doing various things in and around BP (2kLY bubble) and about to be away from the game for 2 weeks, so no point starting back just yet for me - may as well be nearby rather than somewhere in the middle of the Abyss. Usually in Kamzel though, not Open.

I had exactly the same thought as soon as the BP jump was announced. Didn't think about the possibility that a station could be divided up into chunks, thus giving FDev the luxury of several CGs... probably right up until 2.4's "????".

A few Galnet articles, with a vague hint, in the region of such and such, or in the direction of that place, each 'find' leading to ore information about the next location. A quick win for FDev to keep us flying round like lunatics, especially if the 'finds' were revealed to have traces of alien weapons fire....
