Newcomer / Intro To stoopid to find Prismatic Shield Generators - (Yes, I am pledged to Aisling Duval and currently at Tier 3)

Hello Commanders,

after finally achieving rank 3 with Aisling Duval, I wanted to try out Prismatic Shields.
My first goal was to see if I can find any location with discounted Shields.

But it looks like I am unable to find any.
And I mean any at all.
Anywhere at all!

So far I have checked about 10 stations suggested by Inara.cz,
including - as last straws - I Sola and Jameson Memorial.

As I was using my DB-X, I specifically searched for Class 3 Prismatics, just to be on the safe side.

I double checked that I am Tier 3 with Aisling,
I double check every location,
I made sure to get the LATEST info from inara (like "Updated: 3 minutes ago")

I even rologged.
Twice.
And I checked both in Horizon and Odyssey.

I even went so far as to check wether Prismatic Shields are listed under "Shield Generators" or somewhere else by checking videos on youtube and actually watching someone buying them!
(Granted, the only video I could find was from a year ago, but I doubt FDev has changed this... or.. did they? o_o ...)

I never felt so stupid in my live.
Well, lets say for the last 3 years or so.

Has anyone any suggestion where to find them?
And I mean at this very moment, not out of memory.
If you are currently in game at a station and can see those shields as a buy-option, let me know where, please.

Thanks very much in advance!

Some weeks ago we had a similar case here... And the conclusion was that the OP was pledged to the other Duval. Are you sure that you had kissed the right booty?

precisely

fwiw
I seem to post this a lot..

IF you are at tier 3 with Aisling Duval and have been pledged to her for 4 weeks.
then and ONLY then
You can buy Prismatics ANYWHERE that has outfitting any time of day or night or other.

You Only have to search if you MESSED UP. meaning you WON'T FIND THEM ANYWHERE.
They are sold at absolutely every station that has outfitting, all classes, local tech level is meaningless for powerplay modules..
same goes for any powerplay module
they are sold at ALL stations(with outfitting). ALWAYS. as long as you have your Sh*6 together.

Yes.

And I found the problem.
As it turned out my assesment that:
(...)
I never felt so stupid in my live.
(...)
was for a reason, and is a realistic reflection of reality.

It is ~quite~ embarassing, so grab a coffee and enjoy my mistake:

It's all about timing.

I was sssoooo convinced I was pledged for at least 2 months that after being reminded by the game that "Cycle imminemt, blabla" (you know the drill), I did not give it a second thought and did everything necessary to prepare, delivered the 750x McGuffins, and the next day... well... see above.

What is extra embarassing is, that this is not the first Power Play Module I unlocked, it's actually the last one I want - so I've done this like 10 time by now.

Lesson learned:
If you made a mistake, and can't find it: check the one thing you are absolutely certain about that you don't have to check it.
Or in other words:
If you make a mistake because you are blind, you won't find it - because you are blind! O_O

Thanks everyone that tried to help me to get out of the hole I dug for myself. -_-

I love this part from an epistemological perspective and a more general form of what you realized would be: everyone can be wrong, including yourself. Don't ever think you're absolutely certain about anything. Mind is an imperfect organ and can play tricks on itself - and you, by extension.

Can't find your keys, looked everywhere? Double check before you start blaming others.

Someone did something opposite to what you asked? Consider you may have misspoken, your tongue slipped or you weren't clear enough before you blame them.

Someone seems to be an idiot? Consider that there might be something of value in what they're trying to say that you're not noticing before you write them off completely.

I've been particularly dedicated to the last one recently as a senior developer on a project. My subordinate would sometimes suggest something that seems completely out of whack, but I never succumb to that sensation and keep drilling in and quite often it turns out that while their idea IS in fact nonsense, it is motivated by a genuine problem that I wasn't noticing and which necessitates a change from what I initially envisioned.
