"To the bitter end" - Eagle vs Asp

An ASP will set you back 6.6 million and you need to budget the same again for upgrading it :)

Don't go for an ASP with lower budget than 40 Million.
30 for ship and modules, 10 for trading and safety.
If you decide to go for it sooner you will be dissappointed or risk to lose everything.

Really ?... I must have missed a few modules then. Mine was around 16 million when I sold it and at that nothing I every meet could get through its shields, I had sheild cells but never needed them.

If you want to take it out for a rough ride, the A shields will cost you 16 Mio. alone...
If you just abuse it as a hauler... then ok...

Ok well as I've been hijacked a little bit here , I'm going to ask my next question in a new thread as it's almost unrelated to the video...

The only reason I haven't gone for 3 lasers on the Eagle is that I'm told they will heat up much faster by having the 3 on there.

They do heat up faster, but just don't trigger down all the time you will be fine.

Also because you can take their shields down faster you can fire it less.

Good point. I will definitely have to experiment. I did have 3 lasers when i first got the Eagle when Elite was still in Gamma. Maybe now as I have one as a 2nd ship for combat practice, I can see which I am most comfortable with. If I can get my maneuvering skills honed then 3 fixed beams will be nice. But it's all practice I guess.

So what was the white stuff coming off the Asp (2m35s on the video)? Counter measures or something ?

That was chaff. It made your gimbals go crazy. It also disrupts missile lock before the missile is fired and really hampers cargo and kill warrant scanners. When I'm in my eagle, I practically have chaff equipped at all times. It's life saver against anaconda assassination missions. I've also noticed that in my eagle, a class 2 shield is all I need as the optimal mass of C3 is quite a bit higher than you 'll be compared to the very close optimal mass for c2. It'll also cut your power consumption a lot by going to class 2 and open up the C3 internal slot for something like a C3 interdictor :)
