To the far rim in a Sidey

I'm still deciding on whether to take my Asp or get an Anaconda (something I have never owned). I won't be heading out until some time in December...mostly because I believe Way Point 24 for DWE is set for early December ???

Horrible date. For two reasons. First: I probably will not be in time. Second: If I do get there in time I will not be able to attend due to RL responsibilities [sour]

---edit

Third: It is on a thirsday! That is not during the weekend...

;)

Thanks for the date Cmdr. I had a vague idea when it was but wasn't sure of exact date. And I agree, why these major events are run during the week and not the weekend I don't know...

I'm guessing it will also be 19:00 IGT which means 3am for me...<sigh>

I thought it was early January, unless it got rescheduled. But yeah, by the sounds of it the ASPx will be hard work to get road worthy for that, so it'll have to be the 'Conda. ASPx is still doable though, with a bit of work, and at a measly 40mil to get up and going it's a hell of a lot cheaper. The Anaconda is somewhat disappointing once you get it. A big, slow, lumbering beast with a very limited cockpit view. It made me a ton of money(started with Python) before the Sothis, Ceos cash cows got nerfed, due to cargo space coupled with jump range. But now it's pretty much just a big, sluggish gun. The fighter makes it fun though. I'm tempted to take it to Jaques to play vigilante and grief the idiots who've been shooting at explorers.

I think my main reason for getting a 'Conda is that you can really ramp up the FSD and get 50+LY jump range. I've been flying ships my whole time in ED that have 22LY or less jump range (well I do have an Asp that can do 35LY but I have never flown her)...also you can fit in ship-launched fighters ;)

Frawd

Yeah the fighters are fun as      given how fast they go.

I finished the ASP last night. Got 51LYs now. It can go higher but I'm a bit tired of engineering grinds at the moment. The Conda you can push up to 55 or even a bit more I think. So definitely better in terms of jump range but not greatly. With the Conda you can go exploring and pack heat at the same time though. Bit more peace of mind.

Lol, I was very surprised to see this thread bumped

Since early September I have been out at Jaques but am now heading back to the bubble cos I really want to see the alien crash site and alien ruins!

I'm planning an exploration mission looking for same out in the black, some time later this year.

Hmph.

Resurrect this moment:

How to get emotional after so long away from the bubble.....

I've been on a voluntary hiatus allowing 2.2 to come out and the bugs to settle down. Plus I grinded out getting the Corvette :) Besides: Fallout from the beginning is always a laugh :)

I went on a hiatus too but then I decided to try the 2.2 beta but there so many bugs with passenger missions (my computer crashed every time I tried to get one) that I decided to continue my break from ED...

Now I am heading back to the bubble with plans to see alien crash sites and ruins

How did you do that without an SRV?

Someone with an SRV does the rock shooting, then the commander without flies really low with their cargo scoop open....

Hmmm...I'm sure there is a video of it somewhere in this log. I will hunt it down and repost it for you Duckfat. It's the only way I could possibly get to BP, since I didn't have the jump range nor an SRV to collect jump mats.

Good to see the Vid again - seems a age that I was helping Frawd scoop mats off the surface of planets for the first time ( It was probably about a year ago.)

Probably a little less than a year ago...I didn't leave the bubble in my sidey until late November I think.

ahh I see. Interesting.

In my head I had images of the Sidey scrapping against the ground. [hotas]

That kinda looks like a crab with it's belly flap thing open.

I haven't tried shooting the fragments before. I wonder if they go flying. In which case you can have someone stand there with their hatch open with SRVs playing a game of galactic basketball.

Or.

Someone in the SRV squeals in abject terror when an Anaconda does a 'close' flyby...
