You sir are a gentleman and a scallop.

Your demeanour in our encounter was exactly why traders & miners shouldn't fear pirates if they play it smart.

You fought the interdiction and I respect your efforts in trying, truly. Alas I fly one of the most agile ships there is, the Cobra Mk III. It's an inherent advantage in the interdiction game.

When we dropped, you stopped, let me fire my hatch breaker, and inspect your cargo. Turns out you were empty, and you know what? That's fine. When I'm equipped for piracy I am most definitely not in the business of killing. That's why neither of us had to discharge weaponfire.

I will once again bid you a good day, and let you know that you sir, are an admirable example of a trader. I salute you sir! Truly.

I am being honest when I say I hope you got your big payout today. You earned it. Maybe next time I can take a unit of VO for protection eh'?

Cheers friend. That was a pleasant exchange. May your adventures find you fame & fortune.

Respect big time.

It is wonderful to read this. I wish there were more merchants like that but sometimes i like how the merchants tries to defend their cargo, obviusly i get some tons in almost all the interdictons.

Oh yeah I've got no issue with yraders & miners defending themselves. It's their right and DEFCON 1 cargo retrieval is hella' fun.

But I just like sharing stories like this to demonstrate that I'm after loot.

When I'm pirating, I aim to keep my bounty as low as possible. If I only need to get an assault bounty, that's all I'll incur. Murder is a last resort to be used sparingly, purely to remind the traders that if they don't comply, I have the power to end them.

I spent some time with the Dark Marauders on Xbox One. It's there that I learned the basics. Taken it to the big leagues on PC now. But I use a lot of what I learned on Xbox still.

Hell, I give fully compliant traders (those who stop and don't discharge weapons/ram) "protection". Screenshot their name and for the next 24 hours they are safe from me. In fact I'll aid their escape from rival pirates if I see them in trouble during this time frame.

Traders are a crop. You have to nurture them. Care for them. Treating them like trash is akin to a farmer setting his wheat crop on fire.

You should not let him fly empty and give him some valueable commodity to support his good behavior.
And next thing he will start to do is to play open, fly empty and collect goods from noble pirates.)

The only commodity I had was limpets. This was my first hit of the day. RIP.
