Anybody who stays and fights if he's going to lose is, in my opinion, rather daft. Good job Mr. Pirate.

Yes indeed. This is not 'Elite:Let me stand and get the stuffing knocked out of me for another's pleasure'......It's Elite Dangerous so if you are not 110% certain that you can win the fight in a minute or less then don't engage or if you are the provocateur, turn tail, run and live to exterminate another day.

Simplez.

funny how many people say good job pirate but if a trader runs that's bad and results into repeated interdiction's.

so in this case, good job at running a 3301 version of a Q Ship.

If a trader runs he just gets himself killed, that's stupid - not bad.
Anyway, the Q ship thing is cool and will probably be the only option for bounty hunters with the way the game is designed.

Would you believe I did not even notice his ship? I was too astonished :p

So I'm out there in my Cobra, running rings around this stupid lone star with no planets looking for pirates, when suddenly I'm interdicted. Ok, I say to myself, I'm very obviously not hauling goods somewhere so maybe he just wants to chat. No, he really wants my cargo. Say what? So I just started shooting, and that was clearly unexpected too.

I might suggest choosing a different line of work, just saying :)

Well, it makes a change from people complaining about it the other way around.

All sounds exactly what the game is supposed to be about though (unless "run away" was "disconnect").

Not to take pirates in defense or anything, but running away if he discovers his target is not "easy prey" seems like exactly the thing to do if you're a pirate. Thumbs up to him.

Attempting to run when you are outgunned is always a mistake:

Lil' Eagle, all you had to do was surrender. It twas your own fault for firing on me.

in other words you recomment every trader to go solo mode and put your loved pirates into an empty boring universe. Because no one is takeing a risk. A bit more courrages you little wannabe pirates.

I had a Pirate interdict me earlyer, trouble is my asp is kitted out for combat, i was just carrying some rares in the hold.

He says "drop cargo" and i start shooting, his shields are down and he turns and runs, i didnt even try to chase, just asked him if he wanted another hug or something.

Its a shame, because if the social tools ingame were a bit better, i could have told him to come back and he can have the rares just the the guts of trying it ....

This made me :)
Thanks Blake for reminding me, that thread about grain was hilarious.
There have been several over the last few days by the same bunch about various topics too, good stuff. Its free light entertainment, yay!!

Well done Mr Pirate. Acted as a true Pirate should. It's as if the OP was expecting some form of honour from a Pirate.

A pirate that has bitten off more than he can chew and flees to fight another day is a smart pirate.

There is nothing smart about being dead.

I will murder more carebears tonight, just for this thread. The ED universe out there is carebear heaven, it's just like Eve Online in the early days, it is rich pickings for us of low moral fibre and of those who ransom and keep to their word, who are of somewhat higher moral fibre than I.
