It's a bug. It's a bird. It's a bio-mechanical I-don't-know-what. So far they have not proven to be openly hostile, nor do the appear to be even remotely interested in our ships or our SRV's. So what are they interested it? It seems like they just want to eat the alien base structures and pee, or whatever that is. I'd advise not parking under them at this time.

They may be intentionally left by the aliens who created these bases, to clean them up and prevent their technology/biology from falling into undesired hands.
Or they may be a side-effect of this bio-tech or even a naturally occurring organism that simply likes the way this alien stuff tastes.

No matter what, they're clearly here.

I saw a video where a certain citation is triggered they do turn hostil and attack with a vengeance. So they are sentimentals fora reason.

These things are clearly worth study. If they are able to break down these alien structures by means of the beam they emit, then discovering the nature of that beam, and weaponizing it may be the distinctive advantage we need should these aliens become hostile.
