Today’s patch killed my frame rates

I run a fairly high-end gaming machine with a 2080 Ti. Until today, I have not had terrible odyssey performance. Definitely not ideal, but not terrible. In surface CZs I was getting 30-40 fps. However, after today’s patch I’m getting 15-25 fps—it’s literally unplayable.

I can’t see any changes to my previous graphic settings. Did this patch do anything related to rendering?

I noticed similar trying on GeForce Now before patch (yesterday) in stations was around 50FPS today after hotfix 3 only getting around 30FPS.

Not had chance to try PC version yet.

tldr as a graphical engineer pointed out Fdev are pushing the engine beyond its limitations it can be fixed to a point it would run 60fps on a potato but it would take a while according to the Engineer Fdev are essentially doing low effort low level things to try and get the game running smoother and don't seem interested in optimizing it properly as far as he could tell atleast for now

it will get fixed but they just have other priorities 30-40fps is the least of the games problems i'm still getting every mission to colonia and my friend is still getting PS1 graphics

at this rate, I am not sure if they are pushing a HOT-FIX or a HOT-MESS

Interesting, I had constant better framerates after the patch, sometimes over 70 in hangar and concourse on my 2060,
but after closing in on the bar my framerate tanked as usual to below 25-30, only to recover back to 40+ in hangar after alt-tabbing.

This is all weird...

I also noticed an even heavier Drop in performance. Already mentioned this in another thread. What by all the Gods is going on?
I'll tell you exactly. The devs are under immense pressure to fix this mess as quickly as possible. They are being forced tp push "hot fixes" down the pipeline , without even testing them.
Since the community already accepted the fact that we are just testers , FDev is pushing out untested hot fixes, hoping that at least one sticks.

This is going to be a very very long and bumpy ride...

I redid the delete graphics configs folder thing after today's hotfix as my fps had dropped considerably and got some reasonable improvements, but it was short lived.

My FPS seems to have worsened in the past few days, whether it's related to the hotfixes, I couldn't say for sure but I've had to lower my settings to medium (from high) to keep it playable.

Passenger: "Excuse me, Mr Bus driver. On behalf of the entire bus I'd like to direct your attention to the dead pregnant elephant someone tied to the end of the vehicle. She's clearly slowing us down. Could you please remove her?"

Driver: "I hear there is an issue with the bus going too slow. Could you all please check your hand luggage for me, 'kay thanks! In the mean time we're investigating what could be causing this."

I will have to check this out when I get home. I have a 1080ti/Ryzen 3900x and on surface CZs I'm getting 70-80 fps, on average (some dips when I'm looking at some random thing for some of reason). I can only wonder if this hotfix was a step in the wrong direction.

Same, frames down on planets from around 30 to 15-17 - I think its related to the fact they allowed system memory to be used for graphics ...that's the last note on the patch

Improvement on my AMD 5700XT with Hotfix 3. Only really drops below 60fps @1440p on High when looking into the bar area.

Tanked to mid 20s as I approached the elevator in the docking bay at a Planetary Settlement though

Mine is also worse. Today I saw 6 fps on ground combat. I'm curious if frame rate counter is able to show decimals...
Lowering from 1080p to 720p does not showing any big improvement, 2-3 frames maybe.

Same here. Been doing one particular conflict zone area for days, with it running at a consistent 33-45.

Today it dropped to 23 fps. But what was really weird, is that it's only in specific areas.
