Seriously:
I've been playing this game since the beta.
The game still keeps having to remind me that I have yet again forgotten to retract my hardpoints, cargoscoop....landing gear. Okay admittedly that later one is a rarity.....but I'm not saying that it has never ever ever happened ;)

And naturally Have it on a toggle because as you know, there are those commanders out there who have the mental capacity and enjoyment to remember to press some extra buttons ( when I don't),

Seconded, this is always a pain in the butt. If I'm jamming my finger on supercruise, I clearly want those things to be retracted. Would just be a nice ship function option to have.

I would settle for an indicator light letting me know their deployed, the ships I fly I generally can't tell.
