I've just discovered that under Controls->Ship Controls->Mouse Controls there is now a new button binding called “Disable Relative Mouse” and you can assign it to hold or toggle!
Why didn't anybody tell me?
As a mouse and keyboard player, not having that toggle was basically what prevented me from diving deeper into FA-off flying because you basically need relative mouse mode for precise FA-off flying but in supercruise relative mouse controls are a pain in the lower backside and basically unusable. Switching between the modes required going into the options menu each time. I and many others have been asking for a toggle switch basically forever!
And now suddenly here it is! Right there! And nobody told me! What a pleasant surprise. I am sure it was mentioned in recent patch notes somewhere and I just didn't see it. Maybe this post will alert other ignorant mouse using commanders to this awesome news.
Thank you, Frontier! Thank you so much.
