I wish I had a button that would toggle my ship navigation system from displaying local in-system bodies to displaying the hyperspace vectors in my field of view. Then I could select a hyperspace vector and engage my FSD as normal.
Use case: I play in VR, and while I have no trouble navigating the galaxy map, oftentimes I just want to go in a particular direction, rather than to a particular destination. No need to display all possible jump vectors, just the ones in a narrow cone in front of the ship.
Getting really fancy, if hyperspace navigation mode is in engaged, perhaps the basic mechanic of ship targeting could be repurposed such that you have four new bindings:
Longest vector
Shortest vector
Next vector
Previous vector
This could also be helpful for folks needing to highwake from hostiles. Rather than pick a random vector from your nav panel, pick one from whatever is already in front of you.
If there were an engineer (wink, wink, nudge, nudge) with experience in navigation systems willing to implement this, I'd be happy to deliver whatever materials are needed to help make this happen.
