Toggle to display available hyperspace vectors in HUD

I wish I had a button that would toggle my ship navigation system from displaying local in-system bodies to displaying the hyperspace vectors in my field of view. Then I could select a hyperspace vector and engage my FSD as normal.

Use case: I play in VR, and while I have no trouble navigating the galaxy map, oftentimes I just want to go in a particular direction, rather than to a particular destination. No need to display all possible jump vectors, just the ones in a narrow cone in front of the ship.

Getting really fancy, if hyperspace navigation mode is in engaged, perhaps the basic mechanic of ship targeting could be repurposed such that you have four new bindings:

Longest vector
Shortest vector
Next vector
Previous vector

This could also be helpful for folks needing to highwake from hostiles. Rather than pick a random vector from your nav panel, pick one from whatever is already in front of you.

If there were an engineer (wink, wink, nudge, nudge) with experience in navigation systems willing to implement this, I'd be happy to deliver whatever materials are needed to help make this happen. :)

This is a great idea but not sure FD view it as a value-added feature worth the effort to implement. They commented ages ago that making the galaxy map an in-ship interface vs. the separate display it is now just didn't work out/ effort, etc.

I posted some mock-ups ages ago (pre-release iirc), showing the central sensor disk used as you suggest.

But great idea for sure.

While not quite what you want, how about some sort of icon on the nav panel, that simply tells you if a system is in your forward view?

And/Or, a toggle on the nav panel, that instead of showing the closest 20~ systems (within 20ly), it shows you the closest 20 systems in your forward view, within your jump range.
Obviously it'll update constantly as you move around, not sure how resource demanding that would be.
