Tomorrow is international raccoon day.

I know it is higly unlikely to see them in Planet Zoo, at least at launch, but who knows maybe Frontier prepared another big surprise like with red pandas and gorillas another day :D

I would like to see them in Planet Zoo. I saw them at one zoo in my countrie and they were sleeping whole day, but they pose while sleeping was hilarious :ROFLMAO:

I love racoons. My mother has a whole family of them living close to her house, and they come into her yard almost every night. It would be great to see them in the game.

Did you see them

Did you -by any chance- see them in Zoo Bor? :)

Did you know that you could learn a thing or two about hand hygiene from raccoons? They wash their food (or hands) before eating them!
Well, actually racoons do not wash their food because of hygiene. They for example also use dirty water.
The real reason behind the "washing" is et to be found. One theory claims that they dip their hands in water to make them more sensetive. Racoons have VERY bad eyesight, so they expierience their world tactile mostly.

Well...there's nothing wrong with teaching children some valuable life lessons like washing hands before eating, with perfect examples from the wild.

But... we are no children here. :D

Everyone has a different parenting style. For me it would be important to teach them why animals do what they do in the real context. I also use correct species names with children. Bunnys are no rabbits and vce versa.
There are awesome picture books though, that teach children about what bacteria is and why washing hands and your food is important. That would teach them something about microbiology as well, which I find really cool.

Svuda li nas ima 😁

I think Frontier animators would have a good time making an familiar animal with such an unique behaviour. It would also help with Northern animal representation wich I am dying for.
P.S. a
