Too late for Thargoid action?

Greetings Commanders, I recently got back into ED, only been about a week or so, but I wish to learn how to fight Thargoids. I have purchased just about all of the Pre-Builts including the Chieftain AX (good looking that) and have seen several videos on Thargoids, but I am essentially clueless on where to go or what to do.

I know the Pre-Built ships are not the best, but I just wanted to get a foothold on several different job types as I am starting from scratch with the exception of reputation. I am currently grinding for the Federation Corvette (I finished the Cutter grind) and am calling SOL home. I saw a video from "Battle Vortex" but it was 9 months old. I did venture out to HIP19870 system and saw a Thargoid Spire but it looked dead, completely dead.

I also just saw tonight a video where essentially all the spires are dead? Or it was something along the lines of the Last Spire. My wallet has 167 million credits and apart from the pre-builts that is all I own. I am flabergasted how many of you have billions and Carriers. One day I hope to get there.

These are the Pre-Builts I own: Type 8 Stellar (my thought is to use this for mining), Type 9 Stellar (my hauler with 720 cargo), Asp Explorer (almost 90 LY jump range), Vulture Bounty Hunter, Beluga Liner, Mandalay Stellar (daily driver), and I just bought the Chieftain AX tonight.

Any help on what to do or where to go, any videos you all recommend I would greatly appreciate. I am currently not part of a clan or group-play and am open to join one. I have contributed to the current Community Goal to deliver and defend deliveries to Starlace Station, so I am aware of that, and coincidentally that is how I made most of my 167 mil was from deliveries.

Thank you for reading and again, any help with Thargoid hunting or any other activity I can get into with the ships and/or $$$ I have that I can buy and equip something for any specific task would be appreciated. I also have not tried biology scanning yet. No clue what to do there either.

The Thargoid War is over so some gameplay has disappeared, but the original, less aggressive Thargoids can still be found (and forcibly disassembled).

There are AXI groups with informative sites, e.g.

If you are totally new to Thargoid combat then expect to face the rebuy screen a few times. Might be worth joining a group and learning with/from them.

Thank you Commander, thankfully the rebuy for the pre-builts is $0 with exception to any modules you swapped out for the stock ones.

Not at all. I am rubbish at combat but I've still solo'd various Interceptors in space, sometimes with most of my hull and canopy gone and I've never been killed. If someone with my panic brain and terrible reflexes can do this without dying - anyone can. Get your ship fit-out right and you will be fine. Lots of guides online for this. I like my all shard AX Krait 2 for shock attacks and rapidly overwhelming their hulls before their shields come back up. Or my AX Multi T10 hull tank which will shred them heart by heart. The only way to die in that thing is to go off and make tea during the fight. Or my AX Cutter which can out run anything it can't out fight and outfight anything it can't out run.

Heck, right now I'm traipsing around Pleiades sectors where the fools are often stupid enough to hyperdict me. At least C8 million a pop, fast way to make money. If funds are tight, I suggest the Krait 2 shard build. I swear sometimes the Interceptors die so fast they had no idea what hit them. With the AXT10 I'll usually take down 3x before needing to re-arm so that's at least C24 million right there.

Oh one tip for AX combat. Treat FA as your enemy. When I first started without it, I was hopeless but I kept getting hammered when it was on. Practice getting comfortable fighting without it and, I promise you, you will take a lot less damage and get a lot more shots on target ( which sounds wrong until you appreciate that Interceptors love to slew which makes Flight Assist into 'Sitting Duck' mode ). You know you've cracked it when you see an Interceptor and you're automatically reaching for FA Off because it feels like it just gets in your way. Remember you're speaking to someone who is rubbish at combat.

Also, ignore the swarms, if you're drifting around they won't get much damage in. Don't bother with remote flak launchers. Take an interceptor down and it's swarm will die too.

Also, lightning attacks are your friend - yes your friend! Don't be intimidated by them. For two reasons. If you get your ship build right, they just don't do much to your hull. More importantly, my mind set during a lightning attack now; Oh soooo... you're basically going lock your self into the dead center of my gun sights at point blank range? Ok well with my throttle hand I will sip my tea whilst my trigger finger is emptying 5x shard cannons into your face...you idiot. Sometimes, I will fire a few rounds into empty space just to empty the clip so I can get a full reload and then I will fly in front of T and wait for him to lightning attack me. If you're ready for it and you've already taken one or two hearts, a lightning attack is often suicidal for Interceptor. You're not going anywhere during so just be super duper aggressive. When he stops firing - you don't!

Lastly, I think, bind a very readily accessible button to your shutdown field neutraliser. You will usually hear a subtle sound from them just before they pulse you and when you hear it, you just hold that button down, don't let go until the green wave has passed you. Timing takes practise. But, a trick, because the war is over for now, T will not usually attack unless provoked but he may pulse you anyway so he can have a good look at you. Let him. He isn't going to live long enough to do it twice 😈

True - can't wait for the storyline bringing them back.

Same, started off rubbish but with Shieldless K2 I solo'd some Interceptors - but I did have to rely on NPC AX pilots though - and they are crap at destroying hearts but they are good at exerting the hearts IIRC.

Not sure if this is already been posted above I’m at work no time to read thru.
Head for one of the dead titans. I’m in Hip 8887.
There was no action at the dead Titan in Sol a month or so ago not sure now.
