Too many Rings in Sol

Anyone notice in the Sol system map all the planets past Mars have rings around them like Saturn? Is that some new astronomy discovery I don't know about?

Wow...Thanks for the updates! I was in grade school in the 60s and we didn't have all these rings! Probably should go back to 3rd grade! :)

All our gasgiants have rings in our solar system. Although they are not as noticable as Saturns. They have it. It's a discovery from the 80s I believe.

Originally Arthur C Clarke was going to use Saturn for his novel. It made much more sense because there isn't the same mega-giga-whatever electromagnetic field that would fry your brain in microseconds flat that surrounds Jupiter. (That EVA scene in 2010... That's cooked meat that reached the other side.)

However, they only had the Voyager footage and Saturn was not good enough for the big screen and so Jupiter it was.
