Too many slave smuggling missions.

Why, oh why are there so many slave transport missions? I'm trying to stay out of slave trafficking (for RP reasons) and every smuggler mission is slaves. Not even imperial slaves, but the bad kind. The missions pay an insane amount too, they are taunting me with their forbiddeness.

We (I) need a better variety of illegal missions.

Yea, I'd like to not be a slave trader too, don't really get much choice though. They are given quite often.

Broadly agree as it doesn't taste very nice, but it's such a rep help to repair unfriendliness that I felt I had no other option.
One thing from '84 I'd really like to see back though is scooping escape pods.
Open fire on me? I'll destroy your ship AND sell your bottom into slavery. Haha! You won't be doing that again in a hurry!

Nothing wrong with slavery in this game. If you can pirate, you can slave.
Not all slaves go and have a hard life.:p

The amount of slave missions are fine, but they just need to add more variety of other types of transport too. Honestly I don't care what I ship, as long as I get the money for it. If it pays the same, I'll ship anything.

Slavery and piracy are completely different, I give traders a choice (cargo or their life) and they are allowed to react accordingly. They ultimately get the final say in the matter. Slaves are taken against their will and then crammed in your cargo hold to be moved and sold. They have no say or choice.

I take care what I put in my ship. I have a very strict moral code in what I trade in. No slaves or battle weapons, everything else is fair game.

I also don't trade in waste, not for moral reasons, just for cleanliness reasons.

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.

So not only a pirate with a moral code, but a *clean* one as well? <eyes Jordan suspiciously> ;)

Slaves have a similar choice - servitude or their life - and they react accordingly.

Slaves are illegal in almost every system, I think only anarchy systems have them as goods, so it makes sense they'd be the most frequently smuggled commodity. There are places you can pick up narcotics, battle weapons, tabacco etc legitimately, at least more than slaves.

Anyway, must dash... there are 5 people chained up in my Diamondbacks cargo hold who are looking forward to their new life working for a psychopath in the Sirus system. I'm being well paid to be an... employment consultant. :D

Ahaha I laughed quite hard at that one, thanks.
Last time I check piracy was still frowned upon, even in real life. A "pirate" with a moral code, albeit a confused one.

You assume the slaves didn't have a choice, maybe they sold themselves into slavery to pay of debts, or were born into. Or better yet "work as my slave and life, or we'll kill you". Sounds like a fair choice to me.

Whatever the reason to justify slavery will not justify it for all, but saying it's more morally reprehensible than pirating is stretching that cow Patty quite thin.

There are systems that are under a dictatorship and the rebels can do well with weapons to fight for their freedom, but that's a bad thing, I guess? Lol funny day

If a canister shakes loose and explodes, or gets hit during a fight, you'll have a big mess on your hands. If it is biowaste, you might as well sell your ship, you'll never get the smell out.

I never claimed to be a saint or moral, I'm just not a slave trader or arms dealer. That's where I draw the line.

Slaves who sell themselves into slavery are called imperial slaves. The bad kind usually don't have a choice. Some might, but most don't. I don't like those odds.

There's fine line between rebels fighting for freedom and terrorists attacking a government they dont like. It'll take a better man than I to make that distinction.

Ahaha, nice, ain't it.

Did you ever play the old Frontier Elite? To trade in slaves you needed a cargo life support. If that failed for some reason while carrying slaves, due to attack or whatever, you found you were carrying fertilizer. :D

I so wish they'd bring that back.

Well there is a fine line indeed. But easily distinguished If you put a little effort in it. You are doing the whole RP thing so taking that effort isn't that much extra.

If it takes a batter man than you to make that distinction, then okay, but also throws your moral views regarding the other things off too. Rather, more hypocritical.

Btw, I'm arguing this simply for your comment. You are welcome to play and justify as you see fit.

Since you buy them in handy 1t chunks, I always thought them as being in cryo storage pods. No mess and no fuss.

No, this is the first one I played, but that does sound awesome. Cool to bring back. :D

It really depends where you're taking on missions. The goods you smuggle have to be illegal at the target station for it to be a smuggling mission, and there's a lot of systems that only list Slaves ( and Trinkets of Hidden Fortune, which don't really count... ) so they're the prime candidates for smuggling.

Around empire space, it's usually "standard" Slaves and narcotics.

It's not hypocritical, I'm just a pirate who doesn't like to trade guns or slaves. I'm not trying to be a beacon of morality.

I have enough blood on my hands I don't need more.

That makes sense, I may have to test this out in stricter systems.

Either way, if one does break, next time you go to scoop fuel.....it won't be pleasant.
