Too many wing missions

Anyone else finding it impossible to get cargo missions due to there being too many wing missions?

This is what I have found for days now, and this is in SOLO!

Board hopping does not work, it's the same over and over. If I'm lucky maybe 1 in 15 are available for me, and that is if I'm lucky. Yesterday I spent 50 minutes board hopping for 20 missions, not skipping any making sure to take all available.

I know there are various posts with various suggestions to FDev, but this has to stop. Please lower the count of wing missions, or here's an idea. Completely remove them from solo play.

Meh, rant over I suppose. My only frustration lies in that to do any form of cargo missions, I must dedicate a hour of my life (which is hard for me as I have a 3 year old son so time on my computer is a rare commodity) just looking for a mission.

its indeed a bit silly..

i also dont see a point in shipping 4k of goods for such a price, even in a full wing of cutters there is better stuff to do for credits..

Yeah, I'm having the same problem with "kill X pirates" missions.

I ended up taking two wing missions instead. (With the lowest possible number of kill requirements).

Hmm wing missions still outnumber all other mission types combined...in solo...which is just another ¨find something else to do¨ moment. Seen it so much that it has actually increased the issue of board flipping...on average I used to just flip the once to get something half decent...nowadays since the plague of wing mission, its 3 or 4 with a cuppa tea and a walk the dogs in the middle.

Its not fun after seeing the same tripe day in day out in both modes...its getting very boring now I have to admit.

Funny thing is that I would take those missions solo if the coin was good...but sadly its not. A typical wing mission from last night pays 850k to haul 5.6k tonnes...thats just laughable really ^

Yes, I had started a thread about the lack of transport missions in a boom state in general, solo missions in particular. Didn't matter how many factions you were allied/friendly with, there were plenty of kill, scan and data missions, but very few transport missions.

I was told to git gud and forget about missions or move. Never mind that we have mission board that doesn't give, it's all your fault because you don't know how to play the game.

I have given up on transport missions and if I want to make some money I just do passenger missions where you can always find plenty of decent paying missions to fill your hold of your a T9 regardless of your status with them.

Try having your trade route of 2yrs suddenly dry up. I had a nice 4 station loop that earned me hundreds of millions in nice simple trucking and then all of a sudden it’s busted, every station on the route suddenly has minute amounts of the commodities I traded in. Literally overnight they all went from high stock to next to nothing or the prices of the commodity suddenly changed from low end to high end making it impossible to earn a decent profit.

the improvement of the economic system in the game should be high on the QoL list for me. I’ve been to stations with a large supply of Imp slaves charging more to buy there than almost every station where they’re actually in demand meaning their ‘sell’ price was also greater and actually the best place to SELL imp slaves. Come on it’s pretty simple maths, the greater the supply the cheaper the cost to buy and vice versa the higher the demand the higher the sell price. Fixing the economic model used in the game will go a long way in bringing a greater feeling of ‘life’ to the game.

This tends to happen with everything new - they go all the way overboard with it - ships are just as bad most times too - remember when the Beluga was new? Every station had 15 of them swarming around the mail slot.

This got better with the Chieftain, and even the Type-10 wasn't over done, now if this conservative disbursement could just be applied to missions....

Nope, but I guess it depends where in the galaxy you are. At certain ports in the Bubble I did notice a high amount. Then again we have no idea how many players are running these wing missions, there are more people playing the game than the tiny minority on the forum. Devs can look at the stats and adjust accordingly.

We need a filter on the mission board..

What we need isn't a filter - because that still means that the majority of missions are for wing - which means that there aren't enough 'normal' missions for each mission board refresh.

Instead, FDev should add a new area like Passenger specifically for Wing missions. That way solo players can still engage should they wish, and the mission board is full of 'standard' non-wing missions. This will also lessen the load on the FDev servers. Win, win!

Wing Mission need their own Sub- Section... Like::

Missions
Wing Missions
Passengers

^ This. I've had the same issue though it really depends on where you are, status with the factions, and whats going on in the system BGS wise. I've been seeing cargo missions for 180 tons worth more wing missions for 4000 tons lately.

At Shin Dez, you regularly get 'Ordinary Mission' delivering 180-300 tons of cargo for 5-7 million, and in the same mission board by the same minor faction, are wing mission to deliver 4000+- 6000+ tons of cargo for 4 mill??

FD are you nuts? who programmed that?

Give them their own section on the board, even if only to stop me having a damn good laugh at the absurdity of this programming disaster.

I originally thought filter, but you're right. Separate section would be a better idea.

tell me about it! i´ve been gnashing my teeth, foaming at the mouth and cursing all and sundry in my stentorian voice every time i log on to the mission boards since 3.0 dropped! but, never mind, at least on a marginally positive note, its given me a reason to go out and re-engineer my entire fleet of 30+ ships, whilst they they take their own sweet time to sort the whole mission mess out!

This has been going on since the Betas. Many of us complained about the imbalance then, but so far, nothing seems to have been done to address this.

I agree that some kind of filter would be good. You would also expect FDEV to smarten up this system from their end as well.

For example when a player is in SOLO Mode. Obviously Wing missions would have little or no appeal for them, so why spam their Mission lists with 80-90% Wing Missions?

My question is if these wing missions are also what is causing the server errors when trying to retrieve the data for missions. Seems since they were introduced, a good number of us have been having failing mission boards on retrieving all the missions?
