The landing position is unrealistically small.
Sometimes you need to position yourself centimeters closer to the cross to register a landing.
This is not like in reality where you have to position yourself within the bounds reserved for you, irrelevant of micro-positioning. Sometimes even irrelevant to heading. Even more since docks in E
manage rotating the whole ship accordingly (if the pad can be fully rotated, why ask the pilot for a very specific heading?)...
BTW, large poles right next to dock. Bad idea. Bad idea in the game, bad idea in reality.
