Tool: Eyedropper to re-select pieces, colors, etc.

I don't have the Alpha so I'm sorry if this already exists.

Is there a tool that will let you auto-select the same piece simply by clicking on the existing piece? Similar to the eyedropper tool. This could work for both re-selecting pieces and colors. It would be very helpful when trying to add or modify blueprint items created by other users.

It exists. Any color capable piece now when you select it for editing will have a color palette in its toolbar.

You'll have to use the multi select to do say a whole roof. Ctrl click each piece separately or drag a box over said roof.

Unfortunately if you have pieces from different sets selected together you cannot color the group at the same time.

There is a work around though. So building in a way that you select all your roof pieces and separate from the building (it'll stay attached to the building unless you decide to move it) you can change the color of the roof by simply selecting the roof "building" that is attached but considered separate. You can save a collective group of "buildings" as a single actual building blueprint and can move them collectively as well. It's not simple but if planned out right would be an awesome way to submit building on the workshop (hint hint).

Just know that you can make a building with several sub assembly "buildings" as pieces which may have dozens of parts each.

So if I select a piece with an existing color, it will auto-populate the same color for further use?

It should be as easy as using a simple "eyedropper" tool to auto select the same piece for continued building

Its been suggested a few times in the Alpha Discussion part of the forum. Infact colouring as a whole has had quite extensive discussion and a reply from a Dev :)

Wouldn't duplicating the piece essentially be the same as an eye dropper? Select the piece, control+d, boom. Or does that not duplicate the color?
