Wow.
My bounty hunting experience has totally changed since the last update.
Partly because the bounty credits are now reasonable. (I'm now making the same amount of money that I was making trading...)
But another reason is because I've worked out how to easily collect bounties from factions I am hostile to.
It's so easy now, I'm amazed I didn't think of this before...
I'm hostile to the Federation at the moment, and up until now I had been trying to sneak into Federation docks. I have been able to do it most of the time, but it seems to have gotten a lot harder since Gamma 2.02.
But then - I had a thought...
...I remembered that when I got to Outposts - rather than the main docks / hubs - I couldn't remember getting scanned by police ships. In fact, I couldn't remember seeing police ships at all outposts...
...so - I try going to a Federation outpost and - viola! I dock at the outpost and collect my numerous Federation bounties without any fuss. Just flew straight in and docked. No issues...!
Along with the increased bountie prices, this has completely changed the game for me.
I was really struggling to be a bounty hunter before. I loved it, but I was kind of consigned to the fact that I couldn't really make any real money from it. I figured I'd have to do trading most of the time, and then effectively spend money having fun bounty hunting.
Now, bounty hunting really is a legitimate past-time.
Well done Devs - I'm really happy with this latest update...
There is one slightly annoying bug though. If I'm at a nav point chasing down bounties - at some point I won't be able to target new ships - no matter how close I get to them. I have to briefly SC out of the nav point and back in again. Then it's fine for a bit longer, until I have to leave and enter again. Sometimes I have to do it literally every single kill...!
But other than that, super happy!
Now I am the Bounty Hunter I wanted to be!
